Britney Spears helps heal broken hearts |
Daily Record reporting that Britney Spears thought she was going to die after coming face to face with gun-toting raiders during an armed robbery. The American singer, who has just released her new single, Lucky, had a shotgun held at her head after being caught up in a petrol station heist. Britney is said to be too shocked to speak about the robbery which happened when her tour bus stopped off at the petrol station in Utah last weekend. A source close to her revealed that the masked men had threatened to blow her head off. "It was absolutely terrifying and Britney thought her number was up. She feels very lucky as it could have been much worse," said the source. Britney, 19, had popped in to the store while her driver refuelled the bus but, as she browsed around the shop, four masked men burst in and demanded money. She and other customers were ordered to lie face down on the floor as the robbers emptied the till of several hundred dollars.

She may be today's reigning pop diva, but now, Britney Spears can add advice columnist to her resume. Brit will soon be doling out advice to thousands of British fans seeking her no doubt wise and insightful thoughts on their crises of the moment. Moonlighting as a so-called "agony aunt" for a Web site run by the U.K.'s BBC network, Britney will begin solving all our problems on September 8 -- questions can be submitted at BBC.co.uk. Some current agony staffers, however, are not exactly thrilled with the new hire. They claim that with her Hollywood life of glitz and glam (not to mention a certain member of 'N Sync wrapped around her little finger), she won't be able to relate so well to the anxious, insecure and lovelorn Brits coming to her for help.

A radio station's attempt to generate excitement by faking an appearance by Britney Spears ended when a woman in a crowd at the station collapsed. She died later at a hospital. Broome County sheriff's investigators said that after a purported interview with Spears on Tuesday night at WMRV-FM, a woman pretending to be Spears emerged from the station to get into a limousine. About 100 people had gathered to greet her.
Police said a 37-year-old woman went into cardiac arrest and was taken to a hospital. The woman, whose name was not released, died Wednesday afternoon, sheriff's detective Jason Ellis said. An autopsy was planned. A man who identified himself as the station manager but declined to give his name said he was ``just trying to focus on the woman.'' ``We're trying to figure out what happened,'' he said, declining to comment further. |
