The game will be released for Japanese gamers sometime in April ' 99 and it will be a sequel to the previous green, red, blue and yellow (Pikachu) editions. What's even better is that these new versions will be in full 56-colors. Below are some screen shots. Judging from the screens, it seems inevitable that Pokemon players all over the globe will love it. On the right, you can also see the transformation of Slow-Bro into one of the new chracters in this version.
How many Pokemon will there be and what are the differences?
There will be over 250 Pokemon with new abilities. Some of the differences in this new version is that:
Pokemon will have their own gender (male and female).
Pokemon can learn some of the 200 tricks included in the game.
Pokemon from the previous versions can evolve to a higher status even if they have reached their peak in the green, red, blue and yellow versions.
Pokemon can be crossbred for a Poke-Baby.
What other new features will be in the game?
Some of the new game features are:
A time clock feature since Pokemon can now sleep. Also, some Pokemon will only battle at certain times of the day depending on their type.
An improved battle screen.
A skateboard will be your new form of transportation.
Can I transfer my monsters from the older Pokemon games to the new one?
Yes, you can. But one thing to note however, is that monsters from the original green, red, blue and yellow editions can be transferred to the gold and silver carts but not vice-versa.
