| Grooming Your Bunny |
 |
| A little tip: The grooming technique I use doesn't necesseraly have to work for you. |
It is important to groom your bunny at least once a week. The tools you would use to groom your rabbit are up to you to choose. I use a slicker brush and a metal comb. If have a longhaired rabbit you can follow the steps below to groom your bunny.
Step 1- Brushing out lose fur.
It is best if you have some carpet samples around your house or barn to groom your bunny on. Once you've placed your bunny on a table use a slicker brush to brush out all the lose fur. If you are grooming your bunny outside have a small basket or a container handy to put the fur you brushed out in it so the wind won't blow it all over the yard.
Step 2- Looking for matts.
Go over the bunny's fur with your hands and see if you can find any matts. The places you can find most of the matts are behind the ears, under the tail, on the stomach, and between the tail and the body. Take the metal brush and try to brush out the matt by holding the fur near it with one hand and brushing it out with another. Try not to pull the fur or you'll hurt the bunny. If you see that you can't get rid of the matt carefully cut it out with scissors. When all the matts are gone the hardest part is over.
Step 3- Applying finishing touches
Use any comb to brush the bunny's fur by layers. You can start at any part of the rabbit you want. Finally use the slicker brush or your hands to apply finishing touches on the fur to make your bunny look like it has been very nicely groomed.
Good Luck!
