Kuru Forest
One afternoon, Kuru was busy doing his homework. "Why don't you go see how Old Man Smith is doing?" said his mom. "Why do I have to go see him? Why cant Billy go?" replied Kuru. "Cause you are the younger one and you don't need to be training like Billy does." "All right, if I have to." So Kuru went to Old Man Smith's house and right as Kuru opened the door, Old Man Smith just started running towards him. "Please help me," said Smith," I need your help. My daughter has been captured by some knights and is imprisoned at the Weedland Castle. At the castle there is a dragon, who has a stone. This stone is one of the 13 stones from the 13 dragons of Sacara. The legend has it that if you collect these 13 stones you will rule all of Sacara! So go defeat the dragon and save my daughter!" "I will do my best sir," Kuru replies with excitement. On the way home to tell his mom the news, he thinks," Cool! Now I am on my way of being ruler of Sacara! This is my destiny, my DREAM!" "Mom, I'm home with some good news!" "What is it dear?" "Old Man Smith's daughter has been kidnapped and I have to go save her! But to do that I have to defeat a dragon and if I get all 13 stones I will be ruler of all Sacara!" "Wait a minute! Why do you think that is a GOOD thing?" Feeling confident Kuru replies," I finally can meet my destiny and my DREAM!" "Well, okay, Kuru you can go but, only if you train a little on the way!" "Okay Mom, I will." "Here, you will need this. It is a magical spell and you can use this sword." "Thanks Mom, I will be back in a couple of days to show you how good of a job I did on my first quest!" So Kuru heads up north to Weedland doing some training on the way. As Kuru goes through the NutBerryCreek Forest, he runs into a little wizard. "Who are you?" the little gnome guy asks. "I am Kuru, the next leader of Sacara!" "I've heard about you boy. So you are going to go defeat Kora, the dragon with the Stone of Fire?" "Yep, that's me." "Oh well if you defeat him come to my hut and I will teach you the arts of fighting and magic." And the little wizard gives Kuru a map. So Kuru keeps heading north towards Weedland. Doing some more training on the way, Kuru finally makes it to the entrance of Weedland. "Now, how I am going to get in unnoticed?" Kuru thinks to himself. "Ah ha," Kuru says as he finds a suit of armor and a helmet. "I can just wear this and go right up to the castle and start my destiny." So Kuru goes in through castle gate and starts walking towards the main camber. As he walks he notices a shop on his left. "Maybe I can get some items that I will need on this journey." After Kuru buys some healing potions and some elixirs, Kuru heads back towards the main chamber. He gets to the entrance, but two guards are guarding the gate. "You cannot go through this gate," says one guard. "But I need to get in to speak to the King for there I am a messenger." "As you wish," says the other guard. Kuru goes trough the gate and straight to the main chamber. Kuru finds two more guards. "I will just have to take these guards out right now." Kuru slashes them in half. That should take care of them." Kuru races into the chamber to find nothing but the king. "What is the meaning of all this?" asks the king. "You captured Old Man Smith's daughter and you are accused of training a dragon in the area." "What nonsense," says the king. "You can fake all you want but I know that you are going to regret what you have done!" "Alright I confess, but it wont do any good cause I will crush you! Come and get him!" 3 guards come rushing into the chamber. Kuru has a battle with the guards and wins. Afterwards Kuru has no choice but to behead the king. "I won't let you win that easy!" Then a loud noise comes from outside the castle. "So that the might Kora!" Kuru says to himself. After the fierce battle with Kora and the King Paul, Kuru finds himself holding 1 of the Stones of Life; the Stone of Fire. "Wait didn't that wizard-man say to go meet him after i get the first stone?" Kuru says to himself. He starts to go south towards NutBerryCreek Forest and before he gets there he sees something blue to his left. Kuru, being the curious boy he is, started to go east toward the blue light. "It looks like a portal of some kind." Kuru thought to himself. He walked right into it. "AHHHHHHH!" The portal started to suck him up. He was going to fast to think! Blue swirls all around him people saying things millions of animals running around. But in the distance something really stood out. "It's the wizard!" Kuru screams as all of a sudden he flies out of the portal and into a small cotlike building. The wizard was sitting in the corner smiling. "YOU! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!" Kuru ran after him to attack. He stopped about ten feet away and started running away as the wizard sent a big blue ball after him. Kuru opened the door and saw the portal there. Thinking fast he dodged to the right and the blue ball went through the portal. The wizard said "Good job Kuru but I would have killed you if I really wanted to. Do you wish to know how to shoot that ball?" Kuru jumped at the question "Hell yeah, I do!" The wizard chuckled and pointed to a scroll that Kuru could have been sure wasn't there before. Kuru picked it up and opened it. There was a picture of the blue ball that the wizard shot at him. He all of a sudden had an impulse to touch it. He did and screamed. It burned! He fell unconscious and woke up in the NutBerryCreek Forest. "Did any of that happen?" He stood up and realized he had a letter in his pocket. It said
Hello Kuru,
I just wanted to tell you that if you hold your hand out and will it. That ball will shoot out of your hand. And also I gave you 500 gold to start out your journey. You'd better go home and talk to your mother she will tell you where the next temple is. I'll see you later.
Maroginy
"Maroginy?? Iguess that's the wizard's name. I'd better listen to him and go to Mother. When he saw the sign Woodland Village he started to speed up. "At last I'm home," he said. He went home and saw his mother and about half the village in his backyard. He went to see what was happening and he saw a coffin. "Whoa, I wonder who died?" He went around the side trying not to be noticed and saw the person inside the coffin. It was... Him. He fell out of the tree he was in. Why am I in that coffin? "Kuru stick yourself together" he decided to go to his mother like Maroginy said. He found her in the kitchen crying by herself. "Mom?" he said quietly. She just started to cry even more "Now I'm even hearing him say things." Kuru was feeling so bad. He walked right into the kitchen and said "Mother, I'm not dead I don't know how that, that thing is out there but I'm the real me." She just screamed and yelled. "You must be the copy that killed my Kuru!" Just then she started to attack him. Kuru held her down and asked her what all happened while he was gone. After a while she began to cooperate. She said "After you, if you are the real you, left a terrible drought came upon the village and we were all starving. Then the you outside came and saved us. He tought us things like how to get water from using pipes and other things. THen one day he came and told us he was dying from an attack he had on his journey. He said that there was a copy of him somewhere which was the second dragon, Kooly the water dragon, who copied his form. He also said that he was very dangerous and to kill him when he came. So now I must kill you." She started after him with a knife again. Kuru dodged and said "But I have Cara! Old Man Smith's daughter! Did the one outside have her?" That stopped her. "But if you are the real Kuru that means that the one outside must be the fake!!!" Kuru jumped up and ran outside. After that too much commotion went on to even care what was happening except that the other Kuru transformed into a dragon. "RAAH You will have to go to my temple to kill me! You'll never be powerful enough though! Remember the drought before? Now it is Much Much Worse!" and it flew away. Kuru's mom said "Oh well, you stupid fool you taught us how to use pipes HAHAHA!" Kuru laughs and says "He thinks that he is stronger than me?" His mom interrupted," Wait! You have come back! So that means you have defeated the dragon! I am so proud of you!" "Thank you, but I need to find Old Man Smith right away!" Kuru's mom pointed to a door as she said," He is outside. You should go to his house in about a half an hour while I tell everybody the good news." "But what am I going to do until then?" "Why don't you go train for a little while? Here, I will give you this scroll , but you must promise me that you will use it wisely." "I will, thanks mom." So Kuru starts to head to the NutBerryCreek Forest for some training. But on the way there, he runs into a small animal. "You okay little fella? Asked Kuru. "I am okay, its just that my friend isn't. He is very sick and the only way to cure him is to find the sacred NutBerry found near the Creek. (that is how the forest got its name.) "I will do everything I can to help you." So Kuru heads farther into the forest. "Aha! There's the creek." So Kuru looks around the creek to find nothing but bushes. "Wait!" He says to himself. "Didn't Old Man Smith tell me that the only way to get the NutBerry is to look under the creek? I know! I will blast the creek into oblivion!" So Kuru warms up to fire the blast. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Take THAT! BOOOOOOOM! Kuru takes a few deep breaths and goes into the empty creek to look for the NutBerry. "C'mon, c'mon I need that berry so I can get to my training! Aha! There it is. So Kuru puts the berry into his bag and goes back to the entrance. "There ya go little guy," Kuru says as he feeds the NutBerry to the squirrel. "Thank you brave warrior. Uh-oh I must refill the creek." "AHHHHHHHHHH" The creek was suddenly overflowing with water. "Now I must get to my training." So Kuru trains a little then heads back to his village. "Smith! I have your daughter and the first stone!" "You must be a brave, strong lad." "Sorry, but I can't stay to chat. So Kuru heads back home. "Mom, I am home! Mother did the dragon ever say anything about faraway lands?" She replied "Why yes, He always said that in the east you could get as much water as you wanted for there is a neverending fountain in the temple there." Kuru said " Well, I hope you understand that I must leave now." She nodded. "Next time we meet say 'Maroginy'." "Ok, Mom where did you get that word??" She had a puzzled look on her face. "I don't know I just made it up when I was little." Kuru thought that Maroginy had more to do with this than just teaching him a spell. "Oh well let's get this over with." He went and bought more elixers and he started east. On his way he saw the familiar blue portal that led to Magoriny's cot. Kuru thought he had better go if Magoriny wanted him. He went and this time the warping experience wasn't so bad. "What do you want now Magoriny?" The wizard laughed and said "I have another spell I thought you might want Kuru." Kuru said, "sure but if I black out again I'll kill you Magoriny." The same scroll appeared next to Kuru. "It teaches you to make a portal that can take you to anywhere you've already visited. Kuru, the only way you can use it is if you have the second stone." Kuru said, "I'm on my way to get it now, it shouldn't be a problem." Then he picked up the scroll and opened it. On it there was a picture of the portal that took him to Magoriny's. Preparing for the burn he forced his hand on it. Nothing happened. "Did I learn it?" Maroginy replied, "Yes you did but, like I said, you can't use it yet." Kuru looked at him and said "When I can use it how do I?" Maroginy said, "trust me you'll know." Kuru just sighed and walked to the door. He opened it and the portal was there. He tried to look past it but when he did he just teleported. Finally, back in the Eastern Plains he continued to search for the temple. "Where could there be a water temple in this desert?" He was walking and then he saw it. The legendary Water Temple. It was majestic in the distance. With its blue stripes on the towers and the golden top. But most of all was the dragon. On the fifty foot high doors was a majestic dragon carved out of solid gold. It was blue and gold and had red eyes that if you stared long enough at them you could sense the evil flowing through them. "That must be a model of the water dragon Kooly. Boy, I'm scared. I wonder if I can beat him?" Kuru gathered all his bravery and continued toward the castle. "Maybe I'll get a horse after this. I wouldn't be as tired, that's for sure." Kuru opened the door and fought his way through the temple. When he saw a pair of doors the exact same as the entrance. He knew it led to the dragon. He looked left and he saw it. The neverending fountain. "This must be powered by Kooly!" Kuru ran over to it and all of a sudden it sprayed up SO much hot water that he knew it must have been seent by Kooly. "I'll kill him now or never," Kuru said. He wondered if he could actually defeat this monster that he hadn't even seen yet. He walked up to the doors and opened them. Nothing was there except a pillar in the middle of the room. It had the water stone. "WOW! wait a minute, it must be a trap." Kuru said. He walked up to it and picked up the stone. Nothing happened. "Strange I thou-thou-thou-" The doors closed all of a sudden and all light was gone. Kuru was left in the darkness by himself, or was he? He heard something breathing heavily.
Kuru teleported to the NutBerryCreek Forest. “Ouch! That hurt,” Kuru says because of the great fall. “I gotta head towards the village.” So Kuru heads towards his hometown. Suddenly the sky started to get dark. “Hey! It’s only noon!” So Kuru heads towards the legend keeper, Old Man Smith’s house. “Smith! Smith! The- the…” “I know Kuru, it’s the passing of the Dark Moon.” “What the heck is that?” “It’s an eclipse of when the Dark Moon passes over our moon.” “So, is that a bad thing?” “Well, you could say that. In the four hours of darkness, the controller, Merlock, tries to take over Sacara.” “Is this NATURUAL?” “Well, this happens every 100 years…” “I GOT TO DO SOMETHING!” “There isn’t much time. There is one day before Merlock comes, so you can get some training in.” “So, I’ll head to the NutBerryCreek…” “Wait! There is an enchanted forest, Korals, which will boost your training. This forest has very fierce creatures and a wolf which has a evil spell casted upon him. If you defeat him, you will break him from the spell and boost you training. Go upstairs and into the portal whenever you’re ready.” So Kuru heads upstairs but remembers that he has to go home first and tell his mom what he’s doing. So Kuru leaves and goes home. “Hello son.” “I am going to Korals to get some training in. I AM GOING TO DEFEAT MERLOCK!” “I understand. You now have _ spells. Do you know how to use them?” “I could use some practice, but otherwise, yeah.” So Kuru goes back to Smith’s portal and into Korals. “Whoa! This place is weird.” Kuru stays in the forest for about 20 hours. He defeats the wolf and releases him from his spell. When he comes out he goes towards the item shop and weapon shop. At the weapon shop this guy says that he found this shield art the bay. He lends it to Kuru, but only to fight Merlock. Kuru heads out the door and into the middle of the village. “You are going to challenge me? This must be some kind of joke! BRING IT ON!” So Kuru and Merlock have an outstanding battle, but in the end, Kuru is the only one left standing. “This-CAN’T BE HAPPENING!” The Dark Moon turns into a portal and sucks up the evil wizard. “Yeah!” Everyone is shouting and having a party. “Kuru! You did it! I can’t believe you did it! “ Kuru’s mom was yelling and bragging about him. “MOM! Settle down now.” Everyone was now inside having lunch. You couldn’t hear what only one person was saying. It was loud, everyone talking about Kuru. “Oh yeah! I almost forgot. I have to give this shield back to that man.” Kuru sets in down, leaning on the table. “I guess he can wait for a while. I wanna get something to eat. So Kuru is chewing on some food and listens to the warden from the shop and Old Man Smith have a conversation. After about the third cheeseburger, the door slammed open, leaving everybody silent. As everybody stared in fright, the black figure started to come into the room. “Hey! It’s you, the guy who lent me the shield. Do you want it back now?” The man said nothing. He walked slowly into the room. “Give me the Stone of Water!” “Never!” said Kuru jumping towards him. “You will regret it!” There was a BRIGHT flash of light, and the man was suddenly 15 feet tall! And not only that, he was a dragon! “I warned you Kuru! But with Merlock out of my way, I will defeat you and then, THE WORLD!” The dragon flew highly up in the air and zoomed off toward a high mountain. “Who the heck is that?” asked Kuru. The keeper of all legends, Smith, didn’t hesitate to answer. “It’s Foran, he’s the dragon of lightning. He doesn’t let anybody in he’s way.” “Except for me! Stone of Lightning, here I come!” “Wait Kuru, you can’t go yet. Foran has a big tower on top of Mount Kensl, so you have to destroy IT before you destroy HIM.” “But Smith, WHY?” “”Well Kuru, it goes like this. The tower can absorb and attract lightning and the only one who can survive the lightning is Foran himself. So when he absorbs the lightning, he gets more power.” “Oh, okay.” So, Kuru heads up towards Mt. Kensl, taking the shield with him. “This should come in handy.” So Kuru goes up the mountain, facing every obstacle. “Anything could be around any corner.” So being careful, Kuru heads farther up the mountain until he reached a cave. Inside the cave were 3 passageways. He decides to go through the middle passage. He finds many crystals on the wall of the cave. "Hey, one of the crystals is hanging out of the wall." So Kuru, once again being the curious boy he is, pulls the crystal out. "Nothing happened." The cave began to shake and the steel door that was blocking his path opened. So Kuru went farther into the cave until he be found a large treasure chest. It had jewels and rubies all over the solid gold. He opened it and found a sword. This sword was different than his other sword, it had jewels on the handle and a silver blade. "Whoa! This is awesome!" Kuru was so excited that he didn't notice 8 rats that were scurried around him fled as fast as they could. Kuru just stood there, amazed by what he was holding. "Hey, there is a note."
Dear Kuru,
I knew that you was the one that would find this sword. It is the Sword of Eternity. It shall help you along your quest. There is also a scroll, which will help you in fighting the dragon. It is the spell of Earthshot. It will create a "earthquake" starting from you, and ending at the dragon. IT should be of some help. If you defeat him, come back to my hut, for I have returned.
Signed,
Maroginy
Kuru reached in the chest and pulled out a brown scroll. He touched it with his hand and he was knocked to the ground. "I guess it worked." So Kuru closed the chest, put his new sword on his back, and his old sword in his hand. He reached high up in the air and stabbed it through the chest. There was a bolt of lightning and the chest disappeared. "I guess I got to get used to that." So Kuru started towards the end of the cave when there was a loud THUMP. "The heck.." It grew louder and heavier until it came to a stop. Kuru turned around and was face to face with a lizard. He had spikes on his back and spikes on his tail. There was three horns on his head. "You aren't getting past me!" Kuru takes his sword and slices it at the lizard but the lizard quicly dodges. Thinking quickly Kuru took his sheild and threw it at the lizard. With the lizard blinded he threw his sword right in his leg. Kuru jumps and slices him in half, pulls out his sword and poses for victory. "No one challanges me!" So Kuru, feeling highly of himself, goes back to the entrance for the avalanched door had been opened. "Right or left?" Kuru can't decide which one to choose. "Right!" So Kuru heads right and finds a dead-end. "Help me help me! Please help me. I am trapped in this cage. There was a large Buron in the cage. "I will help you." So Kuru slices the door open with his sword. "Thank you thank you. As of a token of my appreciation, here is a Bow and Arrow." "WOW! This is great!" The Buron runs out of the cave and Kuru goes back to the entrance once again. This time he went left. He soon found himself outside and right by the tower. "Now, how am I going to disconnect this tower? I know! I will shoot the mail system at the top with by bow and arrow! What a good way to test it out!" So Kuru carefully aims at a small ball at the top of the tower, pulls back and shoots. The arrow goes right through the tower and shuts it down. "Yeah!" So Kuru heads back towards the entrance of the cave and back through the middle. "I think I saw another passageway in here." So Kuru runs until he reaches it. "Aha!" There was a sparkling nest full of rubies. Kuru climbs up a large stepway. "You have found me! But I am the one who will kill YOU!" The dragon was furious at Kuru for the tower he shot down. Kuru throws his old sword down and dashes at the dragon while he pulls out the new one. Once the battle gets going Kuru realizes that he can defeat him right now with his EarthShot. So Kuru powers up but then falls to his knees. "I need more power. What should I do? THE SWORD OF ETERNITY!" Kuru tries to pull out the sword but it doesn't come out. "I guess we can't do that. I will use my old one." Kuru puts his sword face down, reaches up, and slashes it into the ground. Then he raises his arm and extends his hand. The was a brown flash of light and a brown ball shot out of his hand and hit the dragon. Suddenly there was an avalanche. "I gotta get out of here!" Kuru races out of the cave but there is too big of a ledge to jump off. There was a big explosion coming from the cave and Kuru had no choice. He leaped into the air and fell to the ground. "Kuru, Kuru wake up!" "What? Where am I?" Kuru opened his eyes and found that he was at his house. "Am..I..DEAD?" "No no, you're not dead, just was uncouncious." "Did I defeat him?" A man started to walk towards him. "I am still alive but you did defeat him and.." "WAIT! WHY ARE YOU HERE? YOU ARE THE DRAGON!!" "We all know that. We all KNEW that. See, I have the spirit of the dragon but I never use it for bad. I was just a regular person until something came over me. I am okay now" "But, what about.,. What am I going to do about the..." Suddenly he held out his hand. He had a yellow ball, all shiny, with electricity going in it. "Take it, it yours now." "Wow! I did it. I got The Stone of Lightning!" Kuru headed towards his shelf. "I now got 3 stones. WAIT! OH Man i forgot! See ya mom I forgot to do something. Be back before you know it. I can't beleive I forgot about Maroginy." Kuru heads towards the NutBerryCreek but then remembers, "What am I doing?" And makes a portal right at the village entrance. "Kuru, it's nice to see you back." "Yeah, I got the 3rd stone!" "Kuru, I have been wanting to give this to you but never had the chance. It's an Ocarina. You can learn songs from an elf in Town. He is in the Temple of Songs. He shall teach you and guide you, along your journey." (Go to KURU STORY 2)
