| PROGRAMS All Programs Are Available As A Single Workshop or Extended Program EGYPTIAN EXPERIENCE - *STUDENT FAVORITE* - Take part in a pretend archeological dig, discovering Egyptian artifacts, doing Egyptian crafts, building a pyramid and searching for the Tomb of the Pharoah Golden Kandee! GO NATIVE - Discover the way of life of the Native American from their food to their honor of nature through crafts, songs, games and food. End an extended program with a real POW WOW! KEEPERS OF THE LIGHT - KOTL offers a specially designed Lighthouse education program for children ages 7-16. Programs are offered as a single workshop or four week extended course. Curriculum includes lighthouse history, life in a lighthouse, lighthouse preservation, crafts activities, games, songs …and in some instances ghost stories. Contact us for an outline of workshops or extended courses. Upon completion children receive a certificate naming them either an Assistant Keeper (for a single workshop) or a Keeper of the Light (for extended program). MAKING IT MASSACHUSETTS - Discover the role Massachusetts played in our country's history: Topics: Native Americans, Boston, Lexington, Concord, Salem, Sudbury, Little Women, Sturbridge, Decade Search. IT's A SMALL WORLD - Take a pretend trip around the world discovering the culture and history of a country: Japan, England, Ireland, China, Russia, Greece, Scotland, Africa available. RIDERS TO THE STARS: Take a pretend trip into space and discover a new world. Topics available: Astronomy, Botany, Earth Sciences, Solar System NUTURING SPIRITUALITY IN CHILDREN - This program helps children heighten their spiritual awareness and develop a healthy balance of mind and spirit. THE JOYFUL CHILD - This workshop gives children the chance to reclaim and release their natural enthusiasm and joy. FREE TO BE ME- Girls will learn to feel good about the strengths and talents they already possess and begin to grow in realistic directions so they will be able to develop the confidence to become anything they want to be. CARING & COPING This program is especially designed to help children understand and cope with family crisis whether these occur in their own households or in homes of family and friends. LOVE TO READ This program is especially designed to help foster a love of reading in every child. BE YOUR BEST - Helps children realize their self-potential, relate to others well, develop values, contribute to society and promotes physical and mental wellness. CHILD’S OCEANOGRAPHY COURSE Children will be introduced to the mysteries of the sea by learning about it’s structure, doing science experiments, singing songs, telling stories and doing craft activities. A Whale Watch trip can be included in this program depending upon dates. EARTHWAYS - is filled with hands-on nature crafts and seasonal activities to enhance children’s environmental awareness. ***ALL TOURS OFFERED BY KOTL VENTURES ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOUTH AND SCOUT GROUPS AND WILL BE ADAPTED TO FIT THE AGE GROUP. PRE-VISIT AND POST-VISIT ACTIVITIES ARE INCLUDED. |
