Woodstock Lines Up Korn, Rage, Jewel, DMX, Aerosmith, 26 Others

Woodstock '94

Korn, Alanis Morissette, Bush, Aerosmith, DMX, Jewel, Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, the Offspring, the Dave Matthews Band, and Sugar Ray are among the 31 performers who have been confirmed for the 30th anniversary Woodstock concert slated for this summer in upstate New York.

Michael Lang and John Scher (the men behind the three-day show scheduled for July 23-25) spoke with MTV News on Thursday and announced that the Chemical Brothers, George Clinton, Collective Soul, Counting Crows, Creed, Sheryl Crow, Everlast, Fatboy Slim, Foo Fighters, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Brian Setzer Orchestra would also be among the artists on the bill.

Everlast

The announcement ended weeks of speculation about who would be on the festival and did not include the names of Hole, Marilyn Manson, or Guns N' Roses, whom many expected to be part of the bill (see "Manson, Alanis, Offspring, Metallica, More Sign On For Woodstock"). Lang and Scher said that more acts may be added to the line-up before the show.

Woodstock organizers also noted that one familiar Woodstock favorite -- gate-crashing -- would not be returning this year after successful appearances in 1969 and 1994.

"Let's put it this way... where the '94 show had a six-foot chain link fence, we have a twelve-foot plywood fence backed with steel girders that runs across the entire perimeter of the venue," Daniel W. Flynn, director of planning for Woodstock '99 warned. "If you don't have a ticket, don't come."

Alanis Morissette

Tickets for the event (which will be staged at the 3,600-acre Griffiss Park in Rome, New York) will go on sale on April 18, as will various package tour tickets. Tickets for the show are going for $150, and will be available through Ticketmaster at (212) 397-7474, or online at Ticketmaster.com.

Organizers are also putting together the "Woodstock Express," which will provide concertgoers in 17 cities with bus transportation to Rome and tickets to the show for $249.99. Those hoping for a quicker trip to Rome can book roundtrip airfare and three nights lodging at a nearby hotel through Target Sport Adventures at www.targetsport.com.
