| My Dear Friend, Open Your Eyes and Breathe |
 |
| This poem is written by a teenager from Michigan. She was so upset over the tradgedy in Littleton that she felt she had to put it to words instead of violence. That's my girl! |
I see you lay so helpless, nothing I can do
I just sit and watch you lay in peace
as the pumped bullets in your shaken body
and you no longer feel any pain
you can no longer hear me nor see me
So my dear friend open your eyes and breathe
Open your eyes and breathe
if you do it will put our minds at ease
we can't live without you
our lives will never be the same
So my dear friend open your eyes and breathe
That horrid day came
when we got the call
that they were taking you away
all we did was sit there and pray
The you my friend would open your eyes and breathe
That day we prayed for never came
you never opened your eyes
and took one last breathe
My friend now that you are gone
we sit and consol about you all day
we can still picture you lying there that petrifying day
so helpless and wishing that you
My dear friend open your eyes and breathe
