My personal messge:
To everyone who reads this: I chose to add this page because of the tremendous amounts of violence in schools all across the country. I have no connection with the people in Colorado other than my faith in God. I walk school halls with people just like the ones in Colorado, and I can promise you that no one pays attention to the ones they don't consider normal. That is why we "never see this coming." I hope that by the time I have graduated, I will have never dealt with guns in school, lost a friend by the hand of another friend, or watched a friend run through school shooting in rage. Most of all, I hope no one EVER sees that.

I would like to thank Stacey for allowing me to use the information from her page to make this. Most of the information about the victims and wounded are from her site. If you would like to visit her site the address is http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/1286/ColumbineHigh.html

Here are is a partial list of the victims and their stories. These were compiled by the family or friends of the victims.

Cassie Bernall, 17 - Two years ago Cassie became a born-again Christian becoming active in church youth groups and Bible study groups. In middle school, she had hung out with a nihilistic group. Recently, Cassie visited Britian. Her favorite movie was Mel Gibson's "Braveheart."
The gunmen asked her if she believed in God. Her reply was, "Of course I do!" They shot her in the head.

Steven Curnow, 14 - A freshman, Steven dreamed of being a Navy top gun and piloting an F-16. He watched the Star Wars movie so often that he could recite dialogue. He played soccer as a boy, and he learned to referee to earn pocket money.

Corey Depooter, 17 - Corey loved to golf, hunt, and fish, and he was a former wrestler. Recently, Corey took a maintenance job at a golf club to save money with a friend for a fishing boat. He was a good student. He had his wisdom teeth removed this year, and he was frustrated that it forced him to miss school. Corey hid under a library table with friends as gunmen sprayed bullets at floor level.

Matthew Ketcher, 16 - A junior, Matthew had hoped to start for the football team. Matthew lifted weights and played on the offensive and defensive lines. He maintained an "A" average. He was shot in the library after he tried to reach friends hiding in an adjacent video room.

Daniel Mauser, 15 - A sophmore, Daniel excelled in math and science, earning straight "A's" on his last report card. He ran cross country, and he was a memeber of the debate team. Recently, he returned from a two-week trip to Paris with his French club.

William "Dave" Sanders, 47 - Mr. Sanders was a computer and buisness teacher for 24 years. He coached girls' basketball and softball; his basketball team posted winning record in his first year, 1997-98, after finishing nex-to-last the year previous. Mr. Sanders was married with at least two daughters and five grandchildren. He was shot twice in the chest while directing students down the hallway to safety. He survived at least three hours until the students were rescued.

Rachel Scott, 17 - Rachel had palyed the lead in a student-written play, "Smoke in the Room." She was active in Celebration Christian Fellowship church. Rachel enjoyed photgraphy. During the rampage, Rachel's younger brother, Craig, 16, played dead in the library, and later helped to lead others to safety.

Isaiah Shoels, 18 - Isaiah was the only black you to be shot. He was due to graduate in May. Isaiah suffered health problems as a child, and he had heart surgery twice. He wanted to attend an arts college and become a music executive. Small in stature, he lifted weights, played football, and wrestled. Isaiah could bench press twice his weight. Isaiah transferred from Lakewood High School to Columbine.

John Tomlin, 16 - John enjoyed driving off-road in his beat-up Chevy pick-up. He worked after-school in a gardening store, and he belonged to a church youth group. Last year, John went on a missionary trip to Mexico where his family built a house for poor people. John planned to enlist in the Army in two years.

Lauren Townsend, 18 - Lauren was captain of the girls' varsity volleyball team that was coached by her mother. Other team members said she was "consumed" by the sport. She was a member of the National Honor Society. Lauren wanted to major in biology in college.

Kelly Fleming, 16 - Kelly was an aspiring songwriter and author. She wrote scores of poems and short stories based on her life experiences. She moved to Littleton from Phoenix 18 month ago. Kelly was learning to play the guitar, and she was eager to get her driver's license and part time job. She was shot in the library.

Daniel Rohrbough, 15 - Daniel helped in his father's electronics buisness and worked on the family farm in Kansas during the summer. He enjoyed computer games, stereos, and home theater systems. Daniel was shot while holding an exit door open for fleeing students.

A CANDLE
A candle is such a simple thing:
It starts with just a bit of string.
Then dipped and dipped with patient hand,
It gathers wax upon the strand.
Until complete and ivory white,
It gives at last a lovely light.

Life seems so like that bit of string:
Each deed we do a simple thing.
Yet day by day when on life's strand
We work with patient heart and hand.
It gathers joy and makes dark days bright,
And gives at least a lovely light.
Shine on! In a radiance of love, light, and gratitude.
