ATV Speed Trick

When driving the ATV on courses with gravel or dirt on the side of the road, you can achieve 5 to 10 mph higher top speed. In order to do this you must have part of the ATV riding on the stuff on the side of the road and part of your car on or very close to the road. If done correctly see your speed jump up and pass all those cars that were going as slow as you were before -=]

Faster Car Cheat

Usually when you start a 2-player race across the US only 1 person gets the upgrade. BUT, when 1 person selects 1 save file and the 2nd person picks another, you can stop that! First pick different save files. Pick different cars next. Finally,race up to Washington DC. Pause and Quit the race then RESET (do not turn off and on!) the machine. Re-enter the game using the files used in the the 2-player game Finish the race with both cars and you will have 2 upgrades!

Two tricks....

Chicago-- As you begin the race, you will be on the freeway. After the first two turns, there should be a broken down car. If you hit the car (causing it to FLY through the air) it will land in front of the first place person. It takes practice to hit the car, but once you get it, it will be a BIG help for the tunnel.

Golden Gate Park-- You will be able to get ouside of the fist bridge. If you make the turn at the right time, you will fall over the bridge, and land up in a higher position. This one is VERY hard to get the timing right, but it works!!! Its more of a warp that just falling off of the bridge.

Shortcut

In the Grand Canyon after the first check point stay along the right hand side untill you see a dirt ramp that goes up.When you come up the ramp you will see a land bridge, go across it.{if you go to slow you will fall off}This will somtimes give you a big lead over the other cars. There is another shortcut like this to the right in the beginning of this stage.

Bugs

When racing Iowa or Indiana, if you zoom all the way in (so you are looking out the windshield) bugs will occasionally splatter on tour windshield and when birds fly overhead bird poop will splatter on the windshield. Have Fun!

Falling coconuts

In Beverly Hills, run into any tree on the side of the road and coconuts will fall out of the tree. Not much of a trick, but still pretty cool.

Lost Wheels

After a two player challenge game, the losing player's Right front wheel will fall off if you continuously rotate the analog joystick clockwise. This should happen after the car rotates 3-4 times. Talk about driving till the wheels fall off!

See the Disembodied Head

After entering your initials on the high score screen, push down and scroll to the bottom where the conveyor belt is. Hold left on the D-pad, and after 30-45 seconds a head will roll down the belt.

Nitrous Boost

This code is activated the same way as the "Flashing Lights Trick" code (see below). Get your name on the "Hot Lists", scroll to the bottom of the list, and hold left for about 35 seconds until the head comes rolling across the screen. Using any car in any race, you can now get a Nitrous Boost by press Brake, Brake, Brake, Gas, Brake, Gas. You can only use this once for every checkpoint passed.

Secret Cars

Instructions: When on the Car Select screen, if you hold the C-Left, C-Down, and C-Up buttons, then move the Control Stick from car to car, you will notice that the ATV, School Bus, and the Police Car are available vehicles to race with.

Secret Courses

Instructions: To race on the following courses, hold the specific buttons, then press Start to race:

1.Golden Gate Park

Hold the L Button, and also hold the C-Left and C-Down buttons. Golden Gate Park will replace US 101.

2. Indiana

Hold the L Button, and also hold the C-Up and C-Right buttons. Indiana will replace Beverly Hills.

3. San Francisco

Hold the L Button, and also hold the C-Right, and C-Down buttons. San Francisco wil now replace Grand Canyon

Flashing Lights Trick

Instructions: After you put your initials in on the "Hot Times" screen, you can press either up or down to scroll through the Hot Times. If you go all the way to the bottom to where the metal rollers are and hold the Left direction for about 35 seconds, a face of one of the designers will make an appearance and say "I love this job". After he says this, when you are racing any course with either the Police Car or the School Bus, if you press the Brake twice, then the Gas once, the lights will flash for as long as you hold the Gas. As soon as you let go, the lights go off. Do this as many times as you wish. Note: This code will only work if you are using the Police Car or the School Bus. It will not work with any other car.
