2.) My family is from Plains/Mill Creek are of Wilkes-Barre, My great grandfather was Patrick from county Mayo via England. My grandfather was James, one of (unsure of correct number) 7 or 9 children. My great, great grand father was James and his wife’s name was Mary gibbons. I am in the process of researching the family and am in a holding patter at this time.

3.) REFERENCE KILGALLONS OF UPPER ROSES

Surfed into your excellent web site and saw a reference to Willie who sailed with the Limerick Steamship Company early in the twentieth century.
I am researching Limerick Steam, specifically their vessel Aylevarroo (formerly Lillie) which was lost to uboat action in 1917. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: I was born in Cannock, Staffordshire, UK in 1932. My father, John Thomas Kilgallon was born in Chadsmoor, Nr Hednesford, Staffordshire in 1886. His father John Kilgallon, was born in Willenhall, Nr Wolverhampton and moved to Chadsmoor to become a coal miner. He married Mary Molloy from Fenton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. John Kilgallon's father, Michael Kilgallon and his brother came to UK from Ireland, but unfortunately we have lost the Irish Link.

Comments: Great to see that there are other Kilgallons out there! My grandfather lived in Manchester, UK between the two world wars. He owned a bicycle shop. He moved out to the country with his three sons to Marple in Cheshire.
