~Kid Rock will tentatively release his next album on December 8th through Top Dog/Lava/Atlantic. The album will be his first original release since Devil Without A Cause and follows the success of his compilation The History Of Rock. The album is expected to have guest including Pantera and Mindless Self Indulgence among others
Kelly South (The mother of their son), is suing Kid Rock for the song Black Chick, White Guy. She claims it contains several graphic, inflammatory, untrue, hurtful remarks. Here are some of the lyrics that she claims defamed her character - "If she stepped out of line she got slapped/She had no man no money and no clue/She said I want your child or I'm leavin' you/That girl met another guy and was f--kin' him, too/Slut could barely pay her rent/And then the same old sh-t, I'm pregnant/And if that ain't some sh-t 'cuz/The girl didn't even know who the father was/Three different kids from three different men." The lyrics refer to a "slut" who mothers three children by three different fathers, is physically abused by a drug-pushing boyfriend, and has "no man, no money, and no clue." The song doesn't name Russell, who dated Kid Rock — real name Robert Ritchie — while they attended the same school, but she alleges that it implicitly refers to her. Russell's suit also names Kid Rock's label, Atlantic Records, as well as Rolling Stone and Spin magazines, which published stories the suit claims "affirmatively state that the song is a true and accurate account of the relationship" between the two. All the defendants maintain that they didn't name Russell and only recounted information that was on public record. Calls to the Rock camp were not returned at press time, but Rock has publicly stated that the song speaks the truth without ever naming her. Kid Rock's former manager Stephed Hutton is suing Kid Rock & Rock's Label Top Dog Records for $4 Million Dollars. He claimed it was a breach of contract and unjust enrichment. Hutton is looking for no less than $4 Million and a cut at Rock's future earnings. Hutton became Rock's manager in 1994 after his first two albums were relased. He claims he scored Rock the lucrative deal with Atlantic Records, improved his concert tours, and the publishing of merchandise which took him from a nobody to multiplatinum. He also helped on the new album History Of Rock. Under the contract, Hutton was supposed to earn 15% of Kid's gross income. Hutton claims that Kid was reluctant to pay the agreed amount. The plantiff claims that, to avoid a possible lawsuit, Kid Rock offered to pay a figure far less than what Hutton was owed, and that when he refused and demanded payment, he was suddenly fired. Here's a statement made by Hutton - "It saddens me that, after seven years of hard work and my unswerving devotion to Bob and his career, I am forced to pursue legal action to get what I've earned."

Kid Rock is starring in a new movie with David Spade. It's called The Adventures of Joe Dirt. Filming began in early May. Co-starring in the movie are Roasanne, Gary Busey, Rosanna Arquette, & Christopher Walken. Fred Wolfe wrote it & Adam Sandler is producing it. The plot is a poor 8 year old boy who was deliberately abandoned at the Grand Canyon on a family vacation. 15 years later he's a DJ & searches for his long lost parents. Kid Rock is the bully type & plays as David Spade's rival. Both guys are fighting over the love of Britney Daniel (She stars in Dawson's Creek). Kid drives around in a Trans Am with his buddies in the movie. The expected release date is sometime in 2001
Kid will be in an Imax Film called All Access. Others in it are Santanna, Mary J. Blige, Macy Gray, & Others. It will be a bunch of performances & will be out early next year in conjuction of the 2001 Grammy Awards
