They call me Keifer. (Key-Fur) Keifer is the nickname my mom gave me when I was a very young boy. She used to call me that every day and it bugged me a whole lot... but don't tell my mom I told you that. Then, in 1997 I was working at a Bible Camp in north western Iowa and my first cabin group called me Keifer. It didn't take too long for my fellow staffers to start calling me Keifer, and it was there that I decided to go by the name. So, if you ever see me online, send me an e-mail, or run into me on the street somewhere, call me Keifer. I'm more likely to have an interesting, meaningful conversation with you. |

I have been singing my whole life... more in the past 10 years than in the early years, but I have always been a singer. When I was little, I would sit in my bedroom for hours, put on a set of headphones and sing to what ever songs I was listening too... probably annoying my parents... especially my brother and sister. My favorite songs to sing when I was little were songs by Jan and Dean, The Beach Boys, The Monkees, Del Shannon, and many others.
While in college, my tastes changed to primarily country music, oldies, and the 80's. Who can live without a little "POISON" in thier lives. Now I am "Unskinny Bop-in'" to mostly country music as well as songs I write. |

I have been actively writing music since I was in high school... way back in 1993-1997. It was my Junior Year when I met a wonderful gal named Lacey. Even though we were only friends, we did a lot together... went to movies, parties, dances, parades, and our closeness, our friendship was what started me off with writing lyrics to music I would write.
Soon after I began writing this music, I started singing it for select people... still too shy to sing in front of my parents... and they kept telling me I was good... that I was going to "Go Places" with my sound. I write songs that mean something to my personal life... songs that I hope would affect anyone whom would listen to them in a way that would bring either a memory to mind or a feeling to heart. |

I have been playing piano since I was really, really little. When I was the ripe old age of 1 or 2, my parents bought me a little plastic 14 key Cookie Monster Piano. I remember laying on my stomache and tapping the keys... even though I didn't have the slightest clue as to what I was doing. Growing up, I would spend a lot of my time after school... especially on Friday nights... at the church playing a piano there... it was before my parents could afford to bring a piano into out home.
A few years later, my parents DID get a piano for our home... not much to look at... but I loved that thing more than anything else we ever had. I began taking piano lessons, and after a while my instructor decided it was best for me to quit. I would have her play the songs for my assignment before I went home... wouldn't practice all week, and go back and play it. No problems.
I have a simple style of playing, my piano instructor at Waldorf is going to teach me more about techniques, but I say, if the people who listen to me play that thing LOVE it, why change it that much. What he doesn't know won't hurt him. I'll learn how to read music better, and play music as I read it, but my style is my style... it's my signature. |

Ever since I was a little boy, my parents took me to church. I always loved going, I just didn't like going to the services because I knew I'd have to sit through a sermon I totally didn't understand. Today I thank my parents for taking me because, even though I've made mistakes in my life... who hasn't... I am a much much better man for it. God is the reason for me being the way I am today. With the love of my parents growing up, and supporting my music and my choices, and for God giving me the gift of music... singing, playing, as well as writing. God sent Jesus to live, teach, and die on the cross for us that we may live eternally with him after out lives on earth have ended.
I believe that we have a certain many tasks in our lives that we are supposed to accomplish... it's our choice to accomplish them or not... and I believe that there is soo much good I can spread throughout the world to those who hear my music and know me as a person, that even if it isn't ALL I'm supposed to do in my life... it will be enough to satisfy me. I'm not a greedy person... to be famous means nothing and ot be wealthy means little... if I become a celebrity it's because God has chosen me to live that life... and money will go to different charities to help out where I can. |

KEIFER: The College Student |
On Jan. 9th, I check back into the college where my college life began for me back in the fall of 1997. I am ready for classes to start on the 10th, anxious to finish what I had begun so long ago. It will be strange being a student again... especially since I am 26, but the music classes I take will help me in my music career. There is a lot for me to accomplish, and many reasons I have in my life that made me say "Keifer, get your life back on track." I have been asked by a lot of people NOT to give up on my life long dream of a music career, I've been asked by a lot of recording labels to send them a demo tape/ cd... I've been asked to play at area clubs.
I am returning to Waldorf College this January with the goals of getting high marks. I'll be a returning Vocal Music Major... and taking all the classes that I need, for if I Don't make it in the music buisness, I'll be graduated knowing I'd be happy with being an elementary music teacher. Either way, I win.

What can I say except... GOOOOO PACKERS.. Whether it's Bart Starr from the past or Brett Favre now, Reggie White from yester year or Ahman Green of today... Green Bay has been my pro choice since I was in kindergarten, and they always will be... gotta a problem with the cheese, you better give up milk too. :) |

We all know their record... and you can count their playoff appearences on one hand... and you can count World Series Wins they've had in the past 50 years before you get to the number one... but they are my pro choice when it comes to baseball. If you can't handle the cubs, don't mess with the bear. If you can't handle Wrigley... check what kind of gum you're chewing. :) |
