| Many different cultures have utilized the power of crystals for as long as humans have inhabited the earth. The oldest legend leads us all the way back to Atlantis where this civilization used crystals as beacons of light that would communicate telepathically to their universal forefathers. It is said that the reason this evolved civilization was destroyed was the misuse of the awesome power crystals hold for egocentric purposes. Survivors of Atlantis continued to perpetuate the knowledge of crystals in Egypt, South America, and Tibet. They built pyramids using the crystalline theories. The perfect geometric shape duplicates the laws of crystal physics and channels high frequency universal energy onto the planet. It is believed that the Great Pyramid in Egypt was originally capped with a giant crystal to assist in the grounding of this cosmic force. It is written in Exodus in the Bible that a breastplate made of 12 precious jewels, combined specifically together in four rows, worn over the heart would endow Aaron with the power of God. It is not known what 12 stones were used in the construction, however, it is recorded as having incredible spiritual powers. Kings is ancient India were advised to collect the very best gems to protect themselves from harm. As early as 400 B.C., astrologists made elaborate observations on the origins and power of stones. In fact, they advised people struck with misfortunes to wear different crystals to counteract the negative effects of the planets. Gems and crystals have long been associated with royalty. They were laid in swords, embedded in thrones, and worn in crowns. When the tomb of King Tut of Egypt was opened, the amount of gems and crystals was astonishing. Mayan and American Indians have used crystals for the diagnosis as well as the treatment of disease. Mexican Indians believed that if you lived a good life, your soul went into a crystal when you died. If someone was fortunate enough to find that crystal, it would speak directly to their heart, heal, guide, and make their dreams come true. The power and potential of crystals cannot be overstated. They can be used in meditation to develop the intuition and learn from the higher senses. I must issue a warning that true intentions or humanitarianly pure intentions must be used when working with crystals or some believe the power can be turned against the user. The following is a list of a few of my favorite crystals to work with. From time to time I will add or update this page as I have has time to experiment with certain crystals in my healing practice so you should check back periodically.  HOLLY BLUE AGATE: This stone is violet-blue in color. Agate's are known to balance the Yin-Yang energy and the physical, emotional, and intellectual bodies with the etheric energies. It eliminates negativity and soothes and cleanses the aura. Agate's also assist one with self-examination relevant to one's being. It can be used to assist in the communication between this world and the spiritual world. It also helps to clear cloudy judgment and enhance one's communication skills. Agate's stimulate and activate the throat and crown chakras and, therefore, are used in the treatment of disorders in these areas. It is said to have been one of the stones used in the breastplate of the high priest. It vibrates to the number 2. AMETHYST: This stone ranges in color between deep purple and pale lavender. It is a stone of spirituality and contentment and represents complete metamorphosis. It assists in the mutation of lower energies into higher frequencies of both the spiritual and etheral levels. It balances the energies of the intellectual, emotional, and physical bodies and provides a clear connection between the earth plane and the other worlds. This stone also clears the aura and transmutes any dysfunctional energy located in the body. Amethyst bestow stability, strength, invigoration, and peace. It is also a stone of meditation being that it is excellent in conducting the energy of calm and peacefulness. It opens and stimulates the crown chakra. Amethyst can be used to protect against psychic attacks. It transmutes the energy of the attack into positive, loving energy and sends it back out into the universe. It is said to have been one of the stones used in the breastplate of the high priest. It vibrates to the number 3. CLEAR QUARTZ: This crystal has both piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties. The polarity will change when it is either subjected to pressure or heat, as well as when held in the hand. The tip is normally positive and receiving energy but will change and become negative thus radiating energy from the tip. These properties support the amplification, storage, transfer, and transformation of energy. This crystal can be used to amplify both body energy and thoughts. They can be used in the creation of power and can provide clarity in thinking to enable thoughts to more effectively influence matter. Quartz is said to bring the energy of stars into the soul. Traditionally, the natural quartz crystal was said to both harmonize and align human energies- thoughts, consciousness, emotions- with the energies of the universe AND to make these greater energies available to humanity. The natural tendency of quartz is for harmony, and is recognized as a stone of power. Quartz crystals can be used to facilitate both speaking with and receiving energy from spiritual masters, guides, teachers, and healers. It can create altered states of consciousness and can serve as a vehicle for both reaching and utilizing the talents and abilities of the mind. All of the psychic abilities can be stimulated and amplified by the use of this mineral. These crystals can be used to clear and activate the energy centers of the body. It attunes well with the heart chakra and responds well to the third eye chakra. It has great effectiveness at the crown chakra as well. It is a healer of negativity associated with ones perspective and judgment. Quartz crystals also provide a pathway for communication with your higher self. This stone vibrates to the number 4. SMOKEY QUARTZ: The color of this mineral ranges from light smokey gray to dark smokey gray and black. This energy is especially applicable to the areas of the solar plexus and the chakras located at the hands and feet. The energy can penetrate and can subsequently transform negative emotions and negative energy patterns; it tends to penetrate and to dissolve energy fields which have been generated from negative thought forms, anger, and resentment. It can be used to gently dissolve negative energies and emotional blockages. It softens negative energy and allows positive frequencies to enter the realm of affectation. It works to dissolve the resultant formations, effects, disorders, and disease which a problem has created. This stone does not astound one with it's speed. It is prolonged, yet intense and gentle. It provides for balancing of the yin-yang energy and can be used to facilitate the alignment of the meridians of the physical body with those of the etheral body. It can also help with mind balance, energy balance, and balancing and attuning the energies required for spiritual development. It is an excellent grounding stone. It is an excellent protective stone providing for as encompassing barrier of energy around the user. This stone vibrates to the numbers 2 and 8. |
