The Pokémon Mini is a small handheld system with a black-and-white LCD screen that uses special mini game cartridges. The palm-sized game unit comes with Pokémon Party Mini, a collection of games. The unit has an infrared port and a rumble feature
Events
We have exclusive pictures of the Pokémon Festa, a week long celebration of the Pokémon universe. There was a lot to be excited about at the event - from trading card tournaments to Pokémon® Ruby and Pokémon® Sapphire hands-on gameplay, to a stage show and music. The attendance (final numbers not yet determined) was huge, with over 6,000 people lined up just to play the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire games, which were showing on 50 game machine kiosks! The 300 seat mini-theater was filled to capacity for Pokémon Pika Pika Stage, a musical show featuring favorites like Cyndaquil and Pikachu, and hundreds more took their chance at games of skill and luck, like a target game, lottery, or a Quoits game.Although the Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire games were definitely big draws, there were other game systems featured. The highly popular Pokémon Mini game system was there (there is a new Mini games collection in Japan), as were the GameCube and Super Smash Bros. Melee. For the non-electronic crowd, the wildly successful Pokémon Trading Card Game filled their section, and there were other cool Pokémon-friendly happenings, like a sand-coloring event. If you cant get to Sapporo, try at least going to the Pokémon Center NY some of the events like the trading card tournaments and the bean-bag toss games are played there almost every weekend, along with other special events.

There are plenty of ways to battle Pokémon® characters. You could buy the video games and go head-to-head with other trainers, or you could try to shuffle your way through a few decks and try your hand at the card games. You can even battle your Pokémon with Hasbros THINKChip figures, bringing your favorite Pokémon to life in stunning 3D.
Now Hasbro has another, more portable way to battle your favorite Pokémon characters with a smaller, more portable, and more complex version of the Johto Battle Stadium called the Pokémon Master Quest V-Trainers game. Master Quest is the title of the new Pokémon cartoons running next season. The V-Trainer is a cool little electronic toy that allows you to battle intelligent Pokémon figures against some of the best Gym Leaders around, like Whitney, Morty, Jasmine, and Chuck. The V-Trainer is sold with Cyndaquil or Pichu Battle Packs are sold separately. Each V-Trainers Battle Pack comes with a Gym Leader cartridge, which shows your Gym leader, his/her three Pokémon® characters , and the badge they hold. If you defeat a Gym Leader three times, you win his/her badge, and all stats and points earned are kept in your V-Trainers game's memory. Also included in the V-Trainers Battle Packs are two Pokémon, which you can use as your own. Pokémon are switchable during battles, just like in the video games, and you can have one-on-one, two-on-two, and three-on-three battles. There are also training battles for practice, and a list of attacks that you have to earn through experience. Once you build your experience points up, you can use different attacks.
In keeping with the spirit of competition among Pokémon trainers, you have certain advantages and disadvantages over the competition. Some Pokémon are stronger against other types of Pokémon. Some Pokémon start out at higher levels, and some trainers are tougher than others. But certainly one of the best features is the ability to play against a friend with a separate V-Trainer unit. These features make the V-Trainers one of the best and most innovative Pokémon toys ever made!
Also sold separately are the Capture Packs. These packs include two wild Pokémon and a Pokéball you battle the Pokémon and try to capture them on your V-Trainer unit. If youre successful, youll be rewarded with trainer points that are stored in your unit.
All in all, Hasbro has once again scored with an awesome portable toy that will provide true Pokémon fans with hours of entertainment.
