E-mail: dbinste@tpg.com.au
Special Interests: I am tracing the BINSTEAD family tree and am stuck.
My grandfather, Albert Edward Binstead, born 21/3/1886 was the only child of
Edward Charles Binstead & Sarah Jupp. At the time Edward & Sarah were living in the
Marine Hotel, Littlehampton, Sussex. Edward Charles Binstead was born 12/10/1845 at
Amberley, West Sussex. Family oral history says that Sarah's background was Dutch (?)
and her family were grocers and had an import/export trade. Sarah is reputed to have
been a governess for the Duke of Norfolk at Amberly Castle. After the birth of my
grandfather, Edward & Sarah are supposed to have separated and subsequently got divorced.
I am hoping someone may have some information about Sarah Jupp??

Special Interests: My maternal great grandmother is Emma Emily JUPP born to William JUPP and Eliza (nee HAYLOR) on 28 April 1854 in Keymer, Sussex.
In the 1871 census for St. Gregory Parish, London, Castle Baynard, I find the family with known sibling Eliza Louisa (aged 15, born Putney).
Father is now listed as Simeon JUPP (coachman - which fits family tales) and another child - son Jesse J. aged 11, born Putney, Surrey.
Both parents are listed as born in Cuckfield and aged 55 and 54.(b. 1816 and 1817). In the 1881 census only Simeon (W) aged 63 (b, 1818) and Jesse are listed.
IGI lists a marriage for Simeon JUPP and Eliza HAYLOR on 21 December 1845 at St. Nicholas, Brighton but I cannot find certain births or baptisms for them.
Any leads would be welcomed.
