About the Documentary
Recently, in conjunction with the International Rett Syndrome Association (IRSA) and the Discovery Health Channel, Julia narrated and appeared in a documentary called "Silent Angels". This documentary tells the tale of courageous famliles and determined genetic researchers as they strive to find answers to a debilitating neurogical condition called Rett Syndrome. This disorder randomly afflicts seemingly normal little girls between the ages of 6 and 18 months by stopping and sometimes even reversing their natural development. Julia, along with many others are working to increase public awareness about this terrible disease and to encourage additional medical research in order to determine the cause and to find a cure for Rett Syndrome. Kathy Hunter
Founder/President IRSA "The real heroes in all of this are the girls with Rett Syndrome who have the greatest patience of all because they have to live in a world where people don't understand their attempts at communicating. It's not that they are not communicating, it's that we don't understand them."
