Are we suggesting giving up favorite foods? No, way! We are suggesting that by focusing upon ingesting foods that aid digestion that you will be able to eat your favorite foods with less negative affects.

What foods aid digestion?

Plant food. Plant food is nature's digestion miracle. We've all be taught how important fiber is to our diet but plant food offers more than fiber. The MIRACLE of plant food is the availability of digestive enzymes. Digestive enzymes ensure speedy breakdown and decomposition once in your digestive system. In the juice extraction process, the plant fiber is removed and the juice is left with a concentration of live digestive enzymes. These enzymes have nothing else to do but get to work on the old food debris lingering in your digestive system.

Refined and processed foods have little or no digestive enzymes. Without digestive enzymes, food does not break down and does not move out of your body. Eating raw food and drinking the juice of fruit and vegetables provides your body with the enzymes it needs to break down and digest not only old food matter, but today's favorite foods.

How do I change eating habits of a lifetime? ?

Transforming your eating habits involves not just the eating habits of your lifetime, but your parent’s lifetime and their parent’s lifetime. Most of our favorite childhood foods are passed down to us through generations of shared eating habits. It seems perhaps an impossibly big expectation to think we can transform how we eat, but through the MIRACLE of raw vegetable juicing, you can do it.

Our state of health dictates our eating hcoices.

Our American culture has a cultural taste for foods that are high fat, hot, highly seasoned. Our cultural and familial eating inclinations are bigger than we are! They go back further than we do and originate very deep within us and are very much a part of us. Breaking with eating habits is breaking with a part of ourselves, that most of us accomplish only through life crisis or disease.

We don’t have to wait for crisis or a disease to transform our eating habits.

Once we’re convinced that our lives will improve by changing our eating habits (and our lives will improve, it’s a matter of how much you want to be happy and how much change you’re willing to endure to achieve happiness). Once we’re convinced that our eating choices are going to have to be healthier (and many of us are never that convinced) there is a plan that will move you from unhealthy to much healthier eating choices.

We’re tired of craving food that is not only keeping us fat but also exasperating our ill health. We’re tired of being ruled by cravings or a compulsion to eat something that we now make us miserable after we eat it.

Once you accept that plant food is good for you physically, emotionally and spiritually, and that plant food is the most important food to ingest at this time. Now that we’ve become intellectually enticed to think that eating plant food is a good idea, it’s time to talk about how to overcome our cultural and familial tendencies and conditioning when it comes to eating choices.

Psychological Approach

The biggest factor in unhealthy eating is psychological. We feel bad. We eat to feel better. We are not eating to feel good. Or to stay feeling good. We’re eating to feel better. This ‘feeling bad’ creates an eating motivation that has very little to do with the body. We eat not with a mind to our body or what is going to make our body feel vital or ‘good’ but how to distract ourselves from feeling bad.

One of the first things that will need to be addressed is the part of us that compels us to eat. Within all of us who eat unhealthyfully is a very young and immature personality that was taught to cater to its fear instead of catering to its joy. Out of insecurity, this small sensitive child more than likely experience anxious insecurity. Maybe our mothers were preoccupied, irritable, angry, and impatient. Your needs as a small child were met with more negative energy than positive. You became unhappy and anxious, chances are your mother was unhappy and anxious and feeding you tasty foods was a way of distracting and pacifying you.

Making you feel healthy, vital and alive by feeding you foods that were vital and healthy was not a focus for most our mothers. Feeding you to pacify, quiet or simply make you happy was her focus. Making you happier was not a bad focus, but teaching you to calm and quiet your anxious moments with sugary, fattening foods has led you as an adult to continue to distract yourself with food.

Realize that eating unhealthy food is a habit of distraction. It helps you feel better. This is because you are feeling ‘bad’. By the time you reach adulthood after a lifetime of eating unhealthfully you are feeling bad for two reasons. The first is that young personality within you never did get to express his or her need for love and attention. You learned to turn off expression of your emotional needs by turning to food. Those emotional needs need to be met through attention. As an adult, you will find much emotional growth and maturity by finally focusing on the unmet emotional needs of this small child personality.

This article is emphasizing the beneficial habit of talking to yourself and actually addressing those parts of your personality that were dismissed by your caretakers. Be your own parent.

Vegetable juicing addressed both reasons for your feeling bad. For one thing, one reason why you were unhappy as a child is because your nutritional needs were not met! Once reason why you were unhappy is a child, is because you were malnourished. Your body was hankering for fresh fruit and the vitamins and minerals in vegetables but your parents fed you what they ate when they were small and also fed you to quiet you; they didn’t necessarily feed you with your nutritional requirements in mind. So you were cranky and whiney primarily because you needed something. Yes you probably needed a hug or some attention but your small body also was craving nutrition that wasn’t offered to you.

Drinking vegetable juice mysteriously takes away a lot of the whining and hankering that as an adult you’re trying to stifle. Most of what we need from moment to moment is pure water and nutrition. If our caretakers had realized this they would have more than likely had less whiney children and if your parents had realized how important their nutritional needs were and met them, they would have been less irritable, cranky and impatient with you. Focusing on your health now, as an adult, will calm and neutralize a lot of the anxiousness and tension you feel as a result of poor health and faulty brain function because of malnutrition.

You were probably were hankering for a drink of pure water, but Mom to shut you up gave you Coke or a thick sugary fruit drink. Your body needs and needed when you were small pure water.

What follows is a diet plan that will help you shift from a typical refined diet to a natural vital diet without deprivation and without self-denial.

Distraction – Eating is something I can put all my focus on. Sometimes what I’m eating doesn’t even taste that good, but eating is something I can put all my focus on. I don’t feel bad or good when I’m eating I just feel numb.

This habit to distract ourselves will dissipate when we decide to focus on what we’re feeling and what our body is feeling instead of distracting ourselves with taste sensation. Taking a moment before indulging in your favorite foods and check in. How do I feel emotionally? Take a little longer pause and identify how you’re feeling. (I’m feeling angry, hurt, sad, lonely, disheartened) Label the feeling. Take an even longer pause. Where in my body do I feel this feeling? Locate the feeling. Now check in with your body. Focus on staying relaxed and check in with your body. Are you thirsty? Dehydration can make you feel tense and anxious. Take a drink of pure cool water.
