Water makes up 50 to 60 percent of our body weight (depending upon gender). 70% of our muscles are water and 75% of our brain is water. We lose 2 cups of water a day due to breathing, another few cups when we sweat and another few cups when we urinate.

Our body’s need for water is substantial and much of our anxiety; stress, impatience, drowsiness, confusion and inability to concentrate is due to low grade dehydration. The only thing our body craves more than water is oxygen. Water is an excellent source of oxygen.

The symptoms of dehydration

1) Sticky mucous-like lining in the mouth and back of the throat;
2) Going long periods without urinating
3) Inability to cry tears
4) Wrinkled skin
5) Fatigue and drowsiness / hard to awaken
6) Dizziness and confusion; inability to stay focused
7) Increased heart rate and breathing rate
