Without doubt the popularity and success of the Lambretta in the UK is due to the determination and perseverance of James and Peter Agg, cofounders of Lambretta Concessionaires Ltd.
Despite facing enormous prejudice from existing motorcycle dealers in the early years, they went on to make Lambretta a household name. As other scooter manufacturers fell by the wayside the Lambretta went on to be the best selling scooter in the UK, outstripping sales even of it's main adversary - Vespa.
This prosperity was due in part to the innovative and outstanding customer service facilities they created throughout the UK and to their enormous advertising campaigns, posters, leaflets, display boards, press advertisements and plain old publicity gimmicks such as the J125 Amphi-Scooter.
These video-clips of the Amphi-Scooter are previews of footage from the British Pathe News Library.
