His expertise in programmes and production made various organizations give him responsibilities for the top positions. Born in 1959, a Keralite, he inherited the film medium from his father late Shri. Thom Sebastian, a Malayalam film Producer. But unlike many, he struggled to the top in the journey of an avid and creative learner, who rose from an Assistant in a short span of time to become an Associate Director in the Malayalam film like… Thuranna Jail, Arabikkadal, Postmortem, Passport etc. But the creativity as usual crossed all barriers and took him to Delhi where he joined Jain Studios as producer. And there in a short span of time he carved a niche for himself. In 1990 to counter the challenges offered by fast changing media scenario he ventured to start India’s first Hindi Video Magazine “ Talash” and South Asia’s first Cable News Programme “Delhi Diary Cable News” which established him as an entrepreneur with vision to look beyond horizon. His successful ventures & experiments with creativity brought him back to Jain TV as Executive Producer / General Manager, Programming, and was acknowledged as avid TV professional with experience of entertainment and Current affairs programme and all aspects of Production & Programming. He visualized and directed programmes like BPL Music Mania, Rasna Song, Meri Pasand, Ajanta Quartz New Hits, Close-up Pattuvilayattu(Tamil), Donear, Salam Bollywood, Old Monk Original Show(Tamil), Symphony Bollywood, Liberty Revolutions, Videocon Top Tucker(Tamil) and many more. Some of these programmes changed the trend of TV entertainment forever. His creative urge again led him to experiment in field of musical entertainment and he joined, as Senior Vice President of ATN India’s First Music Channel. His creativity and expertise in the programming and production and the commitment always directed him to the top slots in the industry. He is the first one to visualize and execute 72 hours ELECTION LIVE telecast which remained as one of the few on Jain TV and ATN. In 1999 Joys was made the Director Programming, All India for Siti Cable (ZEE Telefilms LTD.) In August 1999 Jain TV was re-launched as 24 hours news and current affairs channel and Joys was given the responsibilities of the Head of Programming and Production . Within a period of 10 months, News and Current Affairs Programmes on the channel have made their mark with excellent packaging and promos, be it Business hours, Medical News, IT news and Entertainment news and several other niche programmes. 20 years of rich experience in film and television industry in entertainment, music as well as news & current affairs has today made him one of the few accomplished professionals in the country. |
