| Anime comes from the english word animation. In Japan it simply means cartoons. Anime is different to cartoons from America or Europe. The stories of many Animes deal with complex and thought provoking themes. There is a ready acceptance of the reality of death. Unlike american cartoons the characters die sometimes, even in those Animes that are intended for kids. Animes are totaly different from those cartoons of Disney or the like. In Japan not only kids watch Anime, even adults watch them. There are Mangas and Animes for nearly everything (hobbies, cooking, comedy, action, love, sports, science fiction, crime, fantasy). Often you can identify an Anime on the way of it´s drawing. The color should be different than regular than American cartoons and the face should be different as well. |
