| to many out there, They don't know what the hell a MST is. i know i didn't myself when i first got started into popular fanfics. A MST is another authors attempt to make jokes about a fic using a vauge plot outline based on the old tv show Mystery science theater and origional characters than can be taken from just about anywhere. To those of you who have not seen the show it was about this man who was locked onboard a satelite and was forced to watch bad old movies with his robot friends and the only way they could stay sane was by making fun of the movie as it went along. Needless to say, the idea was drafted for fanfics. To MST a fanfic you must follow few set guidelines. 1. never MST someones work without permission! i cannot stress this enough, even though all fanfic authors write without the consent of the origional makers, it is just rude to steal someones work and insult it without checking to see if that person had a sense of humor. 2. You cannot change the story, only crack jokes. Which contains. but is not limited too, Gramatical errors, story context, speech context, wording and any other error. i'm sure thier is more... but i can't think of them right now. I'll update the page later. See ya! |
