(O, Where Have You Been, Billy Boy, Billy Boy)
1. In
(C)bap- ti- sm we have all been set free. It is
(C)there we are first born a- (G7)new. But,
(G7)thought new within, it (C)seems our old skin (F)still af-
(C)fects lots of (G7)things that we (C)do.
2. The
world and the devil in so many ways, try to
get us to stumble and slip. They
cause us to doubt, or they just wear us out and we
of- ten grow weary and trip.
3. We
have to concede we real- ly do need our
faith both restored and re- newed. We
need this, we know, if faith is to grow. That is
some- thing that should be pur- sued.
4. And
so God has given us "food for our soul," to as-
sure us when fail- ures press in. The
wine and the bread, with the words that are said, tell us
we have forgiveness of sin.
5. This
is what we get. On that you can bet. We are
told in the words Jesus said. "My
bod- y, for you. " "To for- give your sins too." We re-
ceive in the wine and the bread.
6. For
this reason Christ bids us both eat and drink. Of his
grace, its a sure pledge and sign. Our
hearts need not grieve, but firm- ly believe that these
bless- ings are both yours and mine.
