(The Erie Canal)
1. How
(Am)does Baptism (Dm)do what it (E7)does?
(Am)We have seen that it (Dm)is- n't (E7)be- (Am)cause the
(Am)water's special, (Dm)for we (E7)know the
(Am)Word must be with the (Dm)H 2 (E7)and (Am)0.
C. The
(C)word that's there is of the (G)Son. It
(Am)points to the cross and the work he's (E7)done. And
(Am)when I'm baptized then (Dm)I can (E7)see the
(Am)work of Christ was (Dm)giv- en (E7)to (Am)me.
2. This
work of Christ can not be bought
by our works the Bib- le has taught. There's
just one way that it is received,
when by grace, it is simp- ly believed.
Bap- tism's not a work we do,
but God's gift for me and you. By
faith we hold this grace so broad, re-
ceive thru water the prom- ise of God.
