"I first heard of them!"
I believe it was late in my teenage years when I first heard of the "Illuminati!" I had been an avid reader of Conspiracy theory books such as "rule by Secrecy" by Jim Marrs and many others.What I should point out is that
the Illuminati encompass vast worldly holdings in everything from banking to the media to oil. This in itself isn't religion as per say
like Buddism or perhaps Hinduism! What are they?? Well the answer to that is twofold,they call themselves the enlightened ones but they are both spiritual and physical.

Enter the 300 Olympians...
This committee of 300 ,is modeled after the British East India Company’s Council of 300, founded by the British aristocracy in 1727. Most of its immense wealth arose out of the opium trade with China. This group is responsible for the phony drug wars here in the U.S. These phony drug wars were to get us to give away our constitutional rights. Asset forfeiture is a prime example, where huge assets can be seized without trail and no proof of guilt needed. Also the Committee of 300 long ago decreed that there shall be a smaller-much smaller-and better world, that is, their idea of what constitutes a better world.
The myriads of useless eaters consuming scarce natural resources were to be culled. Industrial progress supports population growth. Therefore the command to multiply and subdue the earth found in Genesis had to be subverted. This called for an attack upon Christianity; the slow but sure disintegration of industrial nation states; the destruction of hundreds of millions of people, referred to by the Committee of 300 as "surplus population, " and the removal of any leader who dared to stand in the way of the Committee’s global planning to reach the foregoing objectives. Not that the U.S. government didn’t know, but as it was part of the conspiracy, it helped to keep the lid on information rather than let the truth be known. Queen, Elizabeth II, is the head of the Committee of 300.
The Committee of 300 looks to social convulsions on a global scale, followed by depressions, as a softening-up technique for bigger things to come, as its principal method of creating masses of people all over the world who will become its "welfare" recipients of the future. The committee appears to base much of its important decisions affecting mankind on the philosophy of Polish aristocrat, Felix Dzerzinski, who regarded mankind as being slightly above the level of cattle.
As a close friend of British intelligence agent Sydney Reilly (Reilly was actually Dzerzinski’s controller during the Bolshevik Revolution’s formative years), he often confided in Reilly during his drinking bouts. Dzerzinski was, of course, the beast who ran the Red Terror apparatus. He once told Reilly, while the two were on a drinking binge, that,

What should you remember in hearing about the Illuminati which are equally the 300 Olympians, is that a world with

History
A movement of freethinkers that were the most radical offshoot of The Enlightenment — whose adherents were given the name Illuminati (but who called themselves "Perfectibilists") — was founded on May 1, 1776 by Jesuit-taught Adam Weishaupt (d. 1830), who was the first lay professor of canon law. The group has also been called the Illuminati Order, the Order of the Illuminati, and the Bavarian Illuminati. In 1777, Karl Theodor, Elector of Palatinate, succeeded as ruler of Bavaria. He was a proponent of Enlightened Despotism and in 1784, his government banned all secret societies, including the Illuminati and the Freemasons.
The structure of the Illuminati soon collapsed, but while it was in existence many influential intellectuals and progressive politicians counted themselves as members. Its members were supposedly drawn primarily from Masons and former Masons, and although some Masons were known to be members there is no evidence that it was supported by Freemasons. Indeed, membership in the Illuminati, unlike that in Freemasonry, did not require belief in a Supreme Being. As a result, atheists and agnostics, having only the former organization open to them, congregated disproportionately in it; this over-representation, taken along with the Illuminati's largely humanist and anti-clerical bent, likely accounts for many of the charges of atheism leveled at the alleged world conspiracy of which the Illuminati supposedly remain a part.
The Illuminati's members pledged obedience to their superiors, and were divided into three main classes: the first, known as the Nursery, encompassed the ascending degrees or offices of Preparation, Novice, Minerval and Illuminatus Minor; the second, known as the Masonry, consisting of the ascending degrees of Illuminatus Major and Illuminatus dirigens, the latter also sometimes called Scotch Knight; the third, designated the Mysteries, was subdivided into the degrees of the Lesser Mysteries (Presbyter and Regent) and those of the Greater Mysteries (Magus and Rex). Relations with Masonic lodges were established at Munich and Freising in 1780.
The order had its branches in most countries of the European continent; its members were reportedly around 2,000 members in the span of 10 years. The scheme had its attraction for literary men, such as Goethe and Herder, and even for the reigning dukes of Gotha and Weimar. Internal rupture preceded its downfall, which was effected by an edict of the Bavarian government in 1785.
Cultural effect
The Bavarian Illuminati have cast a long shadow in popular history thanks to the writings of their opponents; the lurid allegations of conspiracy that have colored the image of the Freemasons have practically opaqued that of the Illuminati. In 1797, Abbé Augustin Barruél published Memoirs Illustrating the History of Jacobinism outlining a vivid conspiracy theory involving the Knights Templar, the Rosicrucians, the Jacobins and the Illuminati. A Scottish Mason and professor of natural history named John Robison started to publish Proofs of a Conspiracy Against all the Religions and Governments of Europe in 1798. Robison claimed to present evidence of an Illuminati conspiracy striving to replace all world religions with humanism and all nations with a single world government.
More recently, Antony C. Sutton suggested that the secret society Skull and Bones was founded as the American branch of the Illuminati; others think Scroll and Key had Illuminati origins, as well. Writer Robert Gillette claimed that these Illuminati ultimately intend to establish a world government through assassination, bribery, blackmail, the control of banks and other financial powers, the infiltration of governments, mind control, and by causing wars and revolution to move their own people into higher positions in the political hierarchy.
Thomas Jefferson, on the other hand, claimed they intended to spread information and the principles of true morality. He attributed the secrecy of the Illuminati to what he called "the tyranny of a despot and priests".
Both sides seem to agree that the enemies of the Illuminati were the monarchs of Europe and the Church; Barruél claimed that the French revolution (1789) was engineered and controlled by the Illuminati through the Jacobins, and later theorists even claimed their responsibility for the Russian Revolution (1917), although the order was officially shut down before 1789. Few historians give credence to these views; they regard such claims as the products of over-fertile imaginations.
Conspiracy theorists highlight the link between the Illuminati and Freemasonry. It is also suggested that the United States' founding fathers — some being Freemasons — were rife with corruption from the Illuminati. Often the symbol of the all-seeing pyramid in the Great Seal of the United States is cited as an example of the Illuminati's ever-present watchful eye over Americans.
While Weishaupt's group did not survive into the 19th century, several groups have since used the name Illuminati to found their own rites, claiming to be the Illuminati. Such groups include the Grand Lodge Rockefeller of David Goldman (USA), Orden Illuminati of Gabriel López de Rojas (Spain), and The Illuminati Order of Solomon Tulbure (USA). Groups describing themselves as Illuminati say they have members and chapters (lodges) throughout the world.
About the time that the Illuminati were outlawed in Bavaria, the Roman Catholic Church prohibited its members from joining Masonic lodges, on pain of excommunication. This was done as a general edict, since the Church believed many lodges to have been infiltrated and subverted by the Illuminati, but was not able to accurately ascertain which ones. Cardinal Ratzinger (later to become Pope Benedict XVI) stated, in a document by the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith on November 26, 1983, that the "Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and, therefore, membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful, who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion."
According to Principia Discordia and several other Discordian works, the Bavarian Illuminati was revived or rediscovered in the 20th Century under the leadership of Mordecai Malignatus (Robert Anton Wilson, who also wrote about the group under the pennames Mordecai the Fowl and Reverend Loveshade). In the original Steve Jackson Games card game Illuminati and in the trading card game Illuminati: New World Order that's based on it, the Bavarian Illuminati is an enemy organization of the Discordians.
Rosicrucians:
Nicknamed "the Invisibles", this early-1600s quasi-theological society of chosen individuals fancied alchemy and occult symbology (e.g. the rosy cross, the swastika and the pyramid). The Rosicrucians strove for a hidden half-mystical, half-scientific wisdom gained through esoteric study and intense contemplation and derived mainly from the teachings of apocryphal German mystic Christian Rosencreutz. Italian author Umberto Eco says the Rosicrucians were founded by a group of renegade Knights Templar who had survived the extermination of their order in the fourteenth century. Other trace the Rosicrucians' roots back to Eastern mystics such as the Alumbrados, Jewish Cabalists, and the Hermetic magicians and alchemists. The Rosicrucian philosophy, that the divine lies somewhere in all humans, can be traced back to the Gnostic's. In any case, Rosicrucian philosophy influenced a number of seventeenth-century scientific thinkers, among them Francis Bacon and members of the Royal Society, such as Isaac Newton. The Freemasons also trace their roots to the Rosicrucians. The Vatican, never particularly happy with their claims of a secret knowledge, lumped the Rosicrucians in with other revelation-seeking heretics, such as the Illuminati, and denounced Rosicrucian groups like the Invisible College for "tempting Catholics to renounce their faith". By the late eighteenth century, vaguely Rosicrucian hybrids such as the Sublime Perfect Masters (an Italian revolutionary group) and the Order of the Brotherhood of Asia had appeared. Prominent Rosicrucians have included Charlemagne, the Three Magi, Dante, Paracelsus, Sir Christopher Wren, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and Claude Debussy.

More Bilderbergers
In 1954, a group of powerful men and women met in the Bilderberg Hotel in Holland to form an alliance whose purpose was to organize the world in a manner suitable to their liking. This alliance, known as the Bilderberg Group, has held annual meetings ever since to influence the fate of the world. This year is the 50th anniversary of the organization, made up of 120 prominent businessmen, politicians and European royalty.
The annual meetings are held in total secrecy in posh locations in Europe or North America. This year, the meeting will be held in Stresa, Italy, during June. Reporters and other outsiders are prevented from attending, or even entering the premises, by armed security forces, and not a word of what is said in a Bilderberg meeting can be breathed outside. Meetings are held behind closed doors and the minutes are not published.
According to former Bilderberg delegate Will Hutton, a British economist, the meetings are the “backdrop against which policy is made worldwide.” Prince Bernhard of Denmark, a Bilderberg Group founder, stated, “It’s difficult to reeducate the people who have been brought up on nationalism to the idea of relinquishing part of their sovereignty to a supernatural body.” The primary goal of the Bilderberg Group is a one-world government. And to no one’s surprise, the Bilderbergers would like very much to be in charge of that government.
Bilderberger George McGhee, former U.S. Ambassador to Germany, contends, “The Treaty of Rome, which brought the European Market into being, was nurtured at Bilderberg meetings.” In the 1998 Bilderberg meeting, one of the decisions was to encourage British Prime Minister Tony Blair to press harder for Britain’s entry into the European Union, another step toward one-world government. British journalist Tony Gosling claimed, “I first heard about the determination of U.S. forces to attack Iraq from leaks that came out of the 2002 Bilderberg meeting.”
Critics of the Bilderberg Group claim that they coercively manipulate global finances and establish rigid, binding monetary rates around the world. The Group selects political figures they believe will further their cause and targets those who oppose their goals. This strategy guarantees the propagation of their own power and the enrichment of its members, often at the expense of human rights and environmental concerns.
Like it or not, powerful people in high places are meeting regularly and secretly to manipulate world affairs.

It’s not too farfetched to believe that powerful people meet to discuss a common agenda. The problem is the secrecy. Any activity that is honorable should be available for public scrutiny. I once belonged to a similar secret organization that operated on a slightly smaller scale. In 1996, we held a meeting at a Motel Six near the airport in Hackensack, New Jersey. We were much like the Bilderbergers – full of ambition and avarice, yearning for power. Thereafter, we were referred to as the Hackensack Group.
Our goal was to acquire acreage by homesteading the median strip of the New Jersey Turnpike, from Bayonne to Perth Amboy, and grow asparagus. We spent two days surveying the area and formulating strategy.

The United States must promptly pay its debt to the United Nations. In addition, the United States will be asked to contribute billions of dollars to the International Monetary Fund. U.S. taxpayers will be bled almost dry by such expenditures.
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will be converted into a United Nations military force. U.S. troops will therefore come under the command of NATO's foreign officers.
"Corporate Governance" will dissolve national sovereignty and bring all of Earth's corporations under a single global order. Local control over businesses and corporations by nations and states will be terminated. They screen and choose who America's leaders will be and even determine who will run on the Democratic and Republican Party tickets. It was shortly after attending the 1991 Bilderberger meeting, Governor Bill Clinton was selected to be the next President of the United States. Bill Clinton and White House advisor Vernon Jordan's relationship goes back to it's Bilderberger connections.
Among the elitist membership is David Rockefeller, Henry Kissinger, Lloyd Bentsen, Helmut Kohl, Prince Charles, Prince Juan Carlos, Katharine Graham, Alice Rivlin, and Gerald Ford.
