"What is the Gospel?"

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:

for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;

to the Jew first,

and also to the Greek!(Romans 1:16).

"If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." John 8:31-32 (NASB)

The Greek word that is translated "gospel" in the King James Bible is euangelion (yoo-ang-ghel'-ee-on). The Greek word means good news. The Gospels are found in the Holy Bible they are Matthew,Mark,Luke and John some would also say the book of Acts written by Luke, They are part and parcel to the New Testament or New Covenant they speak of Jesus, his life, his death, his buriel and resurrection! They also speak of Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ! Now with this many gospels it isn't hard to get a good look at who Jesus was and what message it was he was preaching! I am gonna continue with a little more narrative.Let's start with the "Gospel according to Mark" the shortest of the Gospels and the oldest,Mark was more concerned in his narrative of the life of Jesus and the physical things he did it seems all the Gospels portray one message, but Marks version is more on physical things like the healings and miracles and actions! Just an interesting note Mark's gentile name was Mark, but his Jewish name was John and since five books named after two different authors of the same name wouldn't work in the Bible he writes under his gentile name! Matthew is next with the "Gospel according to Matthew" the second oldest of the gospels following Mark at just about 25 years after Jesus resurrection, Matthew encompasses 28 chapters and gives a lineage of Abraham right up and to Jesus and a good narrative on Jesus and his life,
verifiable is a good word to use when we listen to Matthews detailed accounts of King Herrod and others who played a role in this Gospel! Next we have the "Gospel according to Luke" Luke describes how God's Son entered human history,Jesus lived as a perfect example of a human. After a perfect ministry,he provided a perfect sacrifice for our sin so we could be saved!
Luke was a doctor or physician ,he was a gentile and the only gentile author in the New Testament,we know the Gospel according to Luke was written somewhere near AD 60 from Rome or possibly Caesarea! He also wrote the "Book of Acts"
and then the most famous of the Gospels. The "Gospel according to John" probably written about AD85-90 before John's exile to the "Island of Patmos" . While the Gospel of John leaves out the great commission, parables, asencion or genealogy!
It does however include six unique miracles recorded just to John's gospel of the eight recorded among the gospels in their entirety! It's purpose to prove conclusivley that Jesus is the Son of God and that all who believe in him will have eternal life!
How do we witness??
A brief video on correctly witnessing to others!

Witnessing or sharing the Gospel is what Christ asked us as believers and disciples to do!(Luke4:18)
Often times though we are at a loss for what exactly to say to someone and when to say it! I believe we need to look at a couple of things first. Pray before you witness to others, asking God to give you the words to speak to those in need! God does know who you will meet and when you will meet them ,and he also knows what is needed in conversation to bring the considerations in a persons heart that leads them to the Lord! This can be done by simply saying "Lord as I go out to share your word with others today let me speak the words that you would have spoken not by what I think needs to be said but rather what you would have me say! I'm asking this in Jesus name! Amen" This covers alot of your bases but let's go a little further you need to understand the parameters of what you are asking another to believe so if you don't understand your own
Gospel you won't well be able to share it with another especially if they have questions! Please note there are two things that make sharing the Gospel easier first: try using your own testimony to explain what you have overcome in your own life or to explain the safety and peace you have in the Lord! Secondly: try showing others by the life you live according to God's word
and your devotion to him! Sometimes the only way to convince someone who is close to you that Jesus is saving those around him or her is by the way you yourself are living. This in itself convicts them they see you refusing to swear,or steal or lie and cheat or be dishonest you have a new way about you and the peace extends out from you to those around! They cannot explain it but they realize deep down that something is different! I would also say that you should be ready to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ any time your asked but it really doesn't get any easier than that I myself have the hardest time
opening up others to the Gospel especially when they really don't care to hear it, but if they ask "LOOK OUT" the cannon is prepared to fire a volley! hehe I'll run them through a two hour documentary and prayer and whatever else they need and
I will do it even when it encrouches on another plan I may have had Salvation for an individual is by far the most important thing we can do in my lifetime or yours by and with God directing us, lest no man should boast!

The Steps you need an unbeliever to understand!
One night while watching television I came upon a show called

the "Way of the Master!"

http://www.wayofthemaster.com/index.shtml

A show where young missionaries were bringing people on the streets to God by asking them several questions!
Really all they were doing was sharing the Gospel in a different fashion, but it was effective to showing people how lost they really were, and most hadn't really thought about it until they were confronted!

Let's try a question and answer example!

Question: Are you going to heaven when you die?
Response: I think so,or I'm Not sure, or Probably not! ,or I am a good person, I think so!

Question:Have you ever taken anything that was not yours?? even a pencil??
Response: well yes, yes ,or sure!

Question: Have you ever looked at another person with lust??
Response :yes, or sometimes.

Question: Have you ever used the Lord's name in vain? even a slip??
Response: yes, or just once, or all the time!

Question:So by your own admitions you are a blasphemer,a thief, and an adulterer, and I haven't asked about lying yet!

If you were to read your bible you should know that God says that these will not inherit the kingdom of God! So you won't be going to heaven! Let's just say you were in court and you were being tried for your sins. and the Judge was pronouncing sentence and it looked grim when all the sudden someone stepped forward and said Judge what will it take to free this man "I will pay his debt or serve his time!" just so he can go free! Well this is what Jesus has done we cannot go before God as sinners so God's Son paid the price for all of our sins by his life(sinless) his death(Painful) his burial(sadness) his resurrection
(powerful) for he said that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever would believeth in him would not perish but have everlasting life! he was the perfect sacrifice for our sins!

Response: So what are you saying?
Answer: God loves even you, but to be saved you have to believe in Jesus, what he has done for you! This means from this day forward following through with keeping his commandments for Jesus said"If you love me you will keep my commandments"

This means repenting from the life you have lived, and asking Jesus into your heart to show you a more excellent way to live!
sinning isn't the answer! but hey we may all make mistakes, but hopefully they aren't intentional! If we slip we ask God for forgiveness and move forward learning and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Savoir Jesus Christ!

What is the "Crown of Rejoicing??"
In preperation of this article I must say that many Christians believe in what we call the two judgements 1st, the "Great White Throne Judgement" this scary judgement is spoken of in the later parts of the book of Revelations,2nd Is a Bema Judgement in which Christ
will give unto those who love him rewards and although it is not directly spoken of in the scripture some of the rewards are directly mentioned although many we probably will never know all about this until we meet the Lord, but these are some we do know of from scripture have a look it's a promise to you! If you walk with him and faint not according to Christ Jesus! 1. The Incorruptible Crown, given to those who master the old nature (1 Corinthians 9: 25-27).
2 The Crown of Rejoicing, given to soul winners (Proverbs 11:30, Daniel 12:3, 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20).
3 The Crown of Life,(James 1:12) given to those who successfully endure temptation (James 1:2-3, Revelation 2:10).
4 The Crown of Righteousness for those who especially love the doctrine of the rapture (2 Timothy 4:8).
5 The Crown of Glory, given to faithful preachers and teachers (Acts 20:26-28, 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 1 Peter 5: 2-4).
When Christ calls Christians to himself (read John 14:1-3; 1 Cor. 15:51-55; 1 Thes. 4:13-18; Rev. 3:10; Rev. 4:1-3), the next event on God’s calendar will be to judge believers for what we have done in this earthly life. We want to hear Jesus say, “Well done, good, faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your salvation, which is fitting.” these particular crowns come after the rapture of the church and are given to those believers who have met these criterea according to God.

Apostle Paul: “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (1 Cor. 2:14)."
