Q: Why is it that the Bible refers to the man of a household as the Priest of it?
A: In the book of Matthew 12:29 Satan is described in a parable by Jesus as binding the strongman of the house in order to divide and control it,Christ is letting us in believe it or not on a secret here, before Satan can plunder the goods of any place he must first bind it's caretaker ,and Jesus refers to the head of the house as the strongman!
In Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
So with this we see the man will answer for decisions made in his care! Whether or not he does rule over the women is a choice but God's directive is that spiritually and infinitely he should and although this is general in nature,it is clearly stated as God's choice in these matters!
This isn't the complete answer though.
Next let's look at 1st Samuel 2:35 "And I will raise me up a faithful priest, [that] shall do according to [that] which [is] in mine heart and in my mind: and I will build him a sure house; and he shall walk before mine anointed for ever." Now here is the kicker if we look at this we could say this is a priest for God's temple however this is not actually what God is referring to and to be quite frank from this we can now see by what God says that he views a house as
working in a certain order with the man a leader of such being responsible for his family's spiritual well being! Now let's go just a little farther with this idea! With the idea that we all should be saved we might be willing to agree, that if the father of your house is the priest! Then you should learn spiritual things from him I would say yes to this, but let's see what Jesus says here"
John 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham."
I think it is clearer now why they refer to the priest of any household as the father!
Abraham was surely the priest of his household ,clearly stated as the teacher of the deeds and works of his children!

Q: I don't think that rewards are given to us like crowns or other things in heaven are there?
A:
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal" (Matthew 6:19-20).
I am always excited when I think of what Heaven holds for the believer some of the biggest websites on the net often will discuss what gifts God has for his believers. Almost with an expectation that rivals ownership here on Earth! Do you know what I am talking about? You'll hear someone say....
"I have a mansion in Heaven it's mine!" "I am laying up my riches in my heavenly kingdom!"
Even the disciples often talk of the crowns they are rewarded with at the end of their earthly ministries!
What I think is important is that we notice that on several occasions. even the Lord actually spoke of treasures and mansions awaiting believers. Why would he devote even a breath to these sentences if he wasn't thinking it was good for us to know? I can answer this ,because, Jesus answers it directly in (Matthew 6:21) For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
In (Luke 23:43) Jesus tells one of the convicted men on the cross next to him that this day
truly he will be with him in paradise!
Now if you talk to most Christians they hold to the fact that Heaven is just paradise and
that is all there is! The fact is they could be a little farther from the truth than they think! Paradise is the foundation for heaven, but given what the bible says, you are the builder! Know ye not this?? Have ye not read?? Please don't think I alone am saying this it is in your bibles!!!!

Q: Is it ok with the way the churches are changing
today for a pastor to call members of the church constituents? Much like we use the term
disciples in place of this in the past?
A:
To answer this question first we must look at the definition of constituents.
The word is by definition " a part of the whole body"! What is neat about this specific word,
is that the word is most often directed, and used ,in politics ,and is directed at those who support a certain
candidate, they to are often called constituents! I would be so bold to say that to be politically
correct constituents, and religion aren't necessarily linked, therefore, the word is out of context
when referring to believers in the body of Christ! However the words definition is not
incorrect, and the Pastor is not mistaken in his use of it,it is just by choice he does this! It would not be our first choice for referring
to our brother or sister as a constituent, but to some it may be theirs! What concerns us is the word "change"!
When you wrote to us here, you said that changing times is basically a reason or possible reason for
accepting different attitudes and ideas such as the use of constituent by your pastor. We think
that change is not the best way to follow the teachings of Christ! We also think that if you have concerns in your church
you should first bring them up to your Pastor, and then if he or she is either unwilling or incapable of
answering your concerns in a loving and concerned way then maybe it is time for you to consider
a different church! We are not to forsake fellowship by any means and this is our acceptable service!
However at the same time we are not just flowing with the crowd either,we are to test what we are receiving
to the light of scripture and see if it is in line with God's word. Last we would like to point out, that
God said "the Bereans were more "noble" than some others because they searched the scriptures for the answers
to things they were taught!" We suggest no less to you! About the disciples, you are one regardless of anything
someone else calls you or doesn't call you! Jesus said "I will make you fisher's of men!" He was speaking to you and me!
You are to preach the gospel and always be ready to give an answer for your joy and salvation if someone were to ask you!
The answer is Jesus Christ! John 14:6 Thanks for the great question! Keep them coming!
Anonymous,
Q: When we refer to the Holy Spirit, of whom do we speak?
A: The Holy Spirit is a person! When Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit, He never referred to the Holy Spirit as "it". As a matter of fact
in John 14,15, and 16. He spoke of the Holy Spirit as "He"! Simply because He is not a force or a thing, but a person. We see from the Bible
that the Holy Spirit has emotions, intellect and will! He speaks in Revelations 2:7 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God." So much as God the Father or God the Son, so we also have God the Holy Spirit! The Trinity equates that the Holy Spirit is God and is part of the Godhead 3 in 1! One God revealed in three persons. What we find in the early early parts of Genesis is the Spirit of God over the waters and darkness of the deep! Actively participating in creation of the Earth! The Holy Spirit is the one that seals us until our day of redemption, and he is also the one who gives us
our spiritual gifts as he wills it. A myriad of books have been written on the subject of the Holy Spirit, but we need to remember, His divinity!
Q: What is this Secret Rapture Theory?
A:
I have looked personally at all the scriptures that tell us about the Rapture. I have done this over and over, hoping to gain something that I may have missed. These scriptures are on this website on the page "Left Behind".
A basic overview of this is found in Thessalonians 4th Chapter.
1Thessalonians 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Thessalonians 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
When we think about the Rapture, we think of Christians exiting the world.
Jesus calls us back to himself. In a secret Rapture this call would come in such a way as the world would not notice it! Either by way of a major disaster or a veil blocking the knowledge of those around us when we leave. I cannot answer the why? I may be able to answer the thought of how? When we are raptured we find that it is a time of great chaos in the world. The world is not headed for peace while Satan is influencing it, and it's people. So we cannot hope for peace until Jesus returns. What would make a tragedy
on a major scale? I have several theories, but here is one I think fits. The United States receives a crushing blow, either financially ,or militarily. This blow will leave it gathering its resources worldwide. It will no longer have the far reaching capabilities it has had in times past. The major players on the world scene according to Ezekiel 38-39
will be the Russians, and the Persians, not to take lightly the Chinese. If this proceeds
as the Bible says it means we have our hands tied when it comes to saving Israel! These countries now perceive us as week and unable to come to Israel's aid. The question of why
has not yet been answered. In a secret Rapture communication with others would have to be interrupted in such a way that they would think it normal to lose contact with others.
Maybe a Global Thermonuclear situation of mass proportions is on our horizon, and we come out on the short end. This may explain loss of contact with others and rationalize their disappearance.
Q. Why do you believe children will be taken in the rapture, when God hasnt intervened for them in wars, and other horrible things that have happened to the children throughout the centuries? Why do you think God will keep them out of the tribulation, when millions have died, and continue to die?
A. These are two different matters entirely. This question involves physical death versus spiritual death (the second death, as the Scripture puts it.) It is the death of the flesh versus the death of the soul of an individual. Sin brought death to the flesh and to the soul (physical and spiritual death), but Christ brings eternal life. That is what Ive spent the bulk of the article addressing. Wars and other terrible things on earth indeed take physical life especially, it seems, the lives of innocent children. Unrepented sin takes the soul in death (eternal separation from the soul-giver God, the Creator). It is comforting to know according to Gods Wordthat all children who have perished over the millennia have gone directly to be with the Lord. Not one single one of them has died in the eternal sense. Again, these are two separate issues physical death versus spiritual death. The rapture is in the realm of the spiritual or the eternal sphere.
Q. But, won't there be children in the tribulation? Jesus says so in His Olivet Discourse.
A. Yes, the Lord does prophesy there will be children during the time of tribulation. He foretells the following: And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! (Matt. 24:19). Notice carefully. Jesus issues a special woe for the parents of children in the time of tribulation. But, the Lord specifically gives two ages of children, here: 1) children who are nursing, and 2) children still in the womb. There is absolutely no mention of older children. These children will be those born AFTER the Rapture. And, there will doubtless be millions upon millions born. Sexual debauchery will explode, as the Holy Spirit withdraws from governing the consciences of men and women (read 2 Thess. 2). No doubt, most of these little ones will perish in the horrors of that time. As many as two-thirds of all mankind will die during that period.
Not fair of God, you say? Consider this: Every single child who is born after the rapture will spend eternity with God the Father. None will have reached the age of accountability by the time Jesus Christ brings this decaying, dying world to an end as recorded in Revelation 19:11. For those who are thinking ahead of me, I realize that children who go into the millennium under the age of accountability will have to make the decision to accept Christ for salvation at some point.
As stated in the beginning of the article, Gods very character is at stake in the matter of whether ALL children (below the age of accountability) will go to be with Jesus at the electrifying moment of rapture. What, exactly, is wrapped up in 1 Corinthians 7:14 is a matter for another study. But, this much the overall context of Gods Word, when speaking to salvation mattersplainly, and loudly proclaims. The Bible teaches that the individuals position in Christ, not his or her position in the physical family here on earth, determines the final disposition of the eternal soul. The rapture is an eternal matter, wrapped up in Gods salvation guarantee. And, it is a guarantee to the individual, not to the corporate even though the collective will go as the Bride of Christ, the Church.
Every child below the age of accountability including those in the wombwill go to be with Jesus when He steps out on the clouds of glory and shouts: Come up here!

Q. Where in the Bible does it say we should look below the surface of things, beyond the obvious for answers, for guidance, for Gods willthat all may not be as it seems at first?
A.
I recieved your email and I hope this answer helps you!
Your question is obviously very deep the answer is also rather in depth!
The obvious answer to your question is found in 2 Corinthians 5:7
In which we are told we walk not by sight, but rather by faith!(below the surface)
In doing so Jesus said "Thomas blessed are those who do not see yet believe!"
Confirming to us that faith in God is often a stretch or a leap in his direction not always knowing where we will land yet we jump expecting his arms to grab us meaning he has the outcome of any situation in his hand!
The rest of your question is answered by scripture found in John 3:19-20.
The reason I say this is because here we are given man's condemnation
and exactly what God says he will look towards in judgement! (God's will is that we avoid darkness) Therefore,
if your a good tree bearing good fruit God says you are where you should be! (Jesus came so that you would have life and life more abundantly!)
If you are bad tree your yield will be bad fruit! The Holy Spirit of God will always convict a believer of bad actions the moment they happen!(Guidance) Someone who is not convicted and without the Holy Spirit will perhaps not respond with remorse to a same wrong action! God however is not limited by your actions just by your will! It's like one of my favorite pastors always says" You dont break Gods commands they break you !"(God's will is that you keep these commands) Given time to watch this for myself I've seen this is exactly true!
Those who walk contrary to God's word are always paying a price!(How's your walk?)
How about this verse: Psalms 46:10
Be still and know that I am God.....

PS: When God spoke to Joshua after Moses was dead he told Joshua that he would now lead the Jews but then God warned Joshua to keep a close eye on the commands he had given in his words to Moses, to follow them closely not going to the left or right ,and he said Joshua if you do this no man will stand against you and your way will be prosperous !
