Prayer(Pray this Prayer!)
Father, I know so little about this mighty ministry of prayer. Lord, teach me to pray. Forgive me for the way I have often looked at prayer as though it were unimportant, insignificant, an optional religious exercise, a last resort. Help me to see prayer as my vital lifeline to You and Your mighty power. Help me to see reality clearly, especially the reality of prayer. Thank You, Lord, that You are not only infinitely powerful, You are also intimately involved in my life. I stand amazed that the Creator-God of the universe is also my Father, and that You invite me to climb into Your lap and call you "Daddy." What grace You give me! What a privilege You offer me! What a wonderful and exhilarating gift it is to be able to converse with You.
In the name of Jesus, our great model of prayer, amen.
John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
When asked Jesus said your prayers should be as such!
Matthew 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Matthew 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
Matthew 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Prayer! Speaking to "God"
This site has many pages available to look at especially if you need various sorts of religious or Christian
information,on everything from "Spiritual Warfare" to the "Da Vinci Code". If you are on this page you are moving ahead at light speed,"prayer" is by far the "best tool in the shed" as a father might say! Prayer is sometimes the hardest thing to do and sometimes the easiest thing to do. It is sometimes the only thing to do! What makes it so special is that it is the highway to God! When God inspires me to do something I am always eager to comply, and this page was no exception! It is my privilage to tell you as either a new Christian or even an elder or pastor that this is where you want to practice and perfect your faith! Although we may never perfect this,if you are a Christian without it your losses will be great, unless God just wants to show complete favor over you.
Prayer is practice of Faith! The pursuit of Faith, The humbleness of Faith, and the extreme power of Faith! and probably a few other things that I may have not mentioned. One thing is for sure if your a prayer warrior evil wants no real part of you!
God wants his children to cry out to him,God wants his children to have an relationship with him,God wants to deliver his children from evil, and God wants so many things for you! You may not even understand the great life God desires to give! One thing stands between his action and inaction that is "Prayer"
"Healing" from the chair to your feet!"
Late one night in early 2005 I watched a man I had known for a short while maybe a year raise up out of a wheelchair and walk! The church we were giving services in had maybe 100 or so members in the room, after a period of prayer by all in the room and the exclamation of healing by our pastor this man raised up out of the chair and began to walk, and even jog somewhat down the isle. Years he had been of being wheelchair bound! Did prayer do it! I would say so! He was not motivated by anything else other than unseen forces as far as myself and others witnessed and if someone thought this was a hoax it was a long drawn out one for very few to see! I had never witnessed him walk in all the time I knew him! "Praise the Lord" We had to ask for healing it didn't just happen. When Moses declared plagues unto Pharoah to free the Jews he was told to declare the coming Plague then stretch forth his staff by faith that God would do as God said he would!
You see God wants to intervene in our lives but it is according to our Faith that he
excercizes his influence. If I make the statement "God this is your word I am asking you to perform it?, I am your follower,I keep your commandments, will you help me O'Father? With this said we realize two things! first he has heard your prayer!
Second his decision to perform it! I may ask for fifty ice cream cones knowing they are bad for me or maybe even not knowing that! God isn't gonna give me a means to ruin myself just because I asked! But if my prayer were genuine and my heart were true to him and I had believed and kept his commands then he says we have what we ask! What I would like to point out is this! His timing is not ours he is an on time God we however are not! If my prayer is for another, God has a time and season for my prayer to be answered.God didn't say I would answer your prayer in 10 minutes or even ten seconds. This is often very hard for Christians to understand, because God is perfect in his decisions and his timing. Some think just because you prayed, you havent yet seen your answer so you become worried. Again his ways and timing are most of the time opposite to what your brain would think of ,as to answering your prayer. I will give you an example, you have a sick young daughter but she is recovering, and you cannot see it because it is a daily slow recovery but it is recovery! you prayed he answered and you thought she would jump up and walk around and say I am better! The fact may have been she was in immediate peril or even slowly dying but God answers with recovery! Not as you would see it but recovery just the same!
God may be trying your faith in him, or maybe others, he will save her ,but by your prayer, and the prayer of others, he is building stronger Christians, and that may have been his purpose for a slower recovery, but this is just an example of how he might choose to work! Remember when it comes to prayer, the eye ,and the ear, can decieve you, after you have prayed, the eye may see something you didn't expect that looks like your prayer isn't being answered, the ear may be listening to people who are telling you that your prayer isn't being answered as you expected! Faith in God should be telling you that God has heard you and will answer! Sometimes the answer is No! Sometimes it's Yes and Sometimes it's wait! but it shall be, because if you asked he has heard and whatever your outcome that is his answer! Praying always to God! should be your approach not just once but daily,Paul tells us to pray continually in the spirit! UNDER Construction!
"Praise!" it is the sound that "Faith" makes!
"Praise" is often thought of as a kind word of approval! We often use it to edify or uplift someone who has done the right thing. I often find that in prayer a kind word of thanks to the Lord for his help in life's situation is fulfilling to me!
After all if I am gonna ask for my Father to help me with anything "thank you!"is surely in order!
Somtimes thanking him for divine health that he gives,Sometimes thanking him for the day he has made,Sometimes thanking him for pulling me out of a mixed up situation! Sometimes thanking him for helping someone close to me! "Thank you Lord, because you are able where I cannot succeed of myself! The fact is if left to your own doings you will eventually fall and he will pick you up! Thank him let his Praise be constantly on your lips and you'll see the wonderful answers to your praise through prayer!
"Repentence!"
"Repentence" What would a good prayer page be if this was not preached the word repent is stated often in the Bible even before Jesus had a ministry here after his birth. John the Baptist always proclaimed "Repent and be Baptized" for the kingdom of God is at hand! What is repentence and what does it have to do with prayer well I am not going to give an lengthy example but I think if your looking into prayer your far enough to understand so I will just tell you why! The Lord wants us to grow daily in his word and his blessings but as you know we fall short and often make mistakes, such as arguing and yelling and any number of things that displease God so after all this yelling are we gonna walk right to God and say well Lord I've yelled and argued today and stole that number two pencil my boss really liked but besides all that I want to ask you for a few things in prayer! Ummm Noo! Catholics call this point confession if you were Catholic you would go to your priest and sit in a confessional booth and discuss sin and ask for absolution!,But we as Christians view this as asking God's forgiveness for our wrong doings we do this by speaking directly to God either on our knees or in private somewhere the wrong that comes to our minds convicted of it in our hearts and really wanting a change of heart!!" You see your hands are dirty and your asking for dinner!"Oh I just had to say it the example I was trying to do this without! But it's true God wants a personal relationship with you but fellowship, close fellowship
comes at a price! your contright heart humbly apologizing not only to God but those who you have wronged and wanting to do things differently next time rather than how you just did them! Now I am not saying get a tattoo and then ask for forgiveness
from God and then go get another! I am saying if you knew it was a wrong move in the first place then don't do it again! period
No No No No No! Be quick to listen! Slow to speak! Modest in all things. Temperate in all things! balanced, and read your Bible often this is a great recipe for success in your prayer life!! Who are you in Christ Jesus??? Thought you'd never ask! A Prayer:
Let's see what the Apostle Paul says about your prayer! Your individual prayer!
2Corinthians 10:4 for the weapons of our warfare [are] not fleshly, but powerful to God for bringing down of strongholds,
2Corinthians 10:5 reasonings bringing down, and every high thing lifted up against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of the Christ,"
Let me say to you that Paul is asking us to pray against wickedness and principalities because we as individuals make a
difference! I would be so bold as to say that you alone could take down an awful lot of Satan's work if you would just pray against sickness, poverty, hardship, and chaos! These things surround us daily if you yourself want peace pray about it!
Anything thing else is as the world would give to you ,but as those of us who are of God and know what prayer is capable of doing "we pray"! Daily! Hourly! and Continuously! Prayer works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Period......
