Comparative Religions.
What they profess to be,and what they actually believe.
I began a long look at the history of religion about five years ago.
I reviewed a long list of doctrinal comparisons and differences of many faiths.
When I stumbled upon the work of a man who spent his entire adult life setting some great groundwork in the studies of religious doctrines.
Without going to much farther,
I wish to pay tribute to the late Rev Walter Martin founder of the Christian Research Institute. This man's exhaustive work and determination allow us as members of different faiths to examine just what each faith truly professes. The simple fact of the matter is that some faiths don't resemble Christianity at all. The many that do are now open for cross examination. The clear main doctrinal difference between Christianity
and any other like religion is Monotheism or Polytheism. In Christianity we are Mono-theistic in the sense that we believe in one God. This God is revealed to us in what we have declared as three persons(The Trinity!). A good way to explain this is by using the comparison of an egg. The egg has a shell,a yoke and the white! Three parts make up
one egg. Without any important part the egg is incomplete. Doctrinally this confuses some,but what you need to understand is that God reveals himself to us in this manner!
One God=(three distinct personages)! God the Father,God the Son and God the Holy Spirit!
If for instance you were a Mormon or a Jehovah's witness your Polytheistic
for several reasons and the main reason is the belief in many Gods or the belief that God has parted himself into three God's(plurality) which would be incorrect! You would deny the Trinity or you would declare there were and are other God's before or after what God has already declared. Both Mormonism and Jehovah's Witnesses make distinct changes doctrinally at this point and also at the life and declaration of Jesus or Lord and Messiah! (The facts are these,God came in the flesh as a man! Born of a the virgin Mary.
Jesus was delivered into the hands of the Romans,Jesus
was persecuted and died on the Cross for the sins of humanity. Jesus was then resurrected three days later and appeared to his disciples. The reason I say this is because no matter how you define other religions Christianity has a basic doctrine for salvation and that is belief that Jesus by his death, burial and rising has saved us from sin and delivered us from damnation or death. The belief in this fact through faith is what we as Christians hold sacred. Now here is the catch if you change this doctrinal belief in any way it becomes false doctrine. If you were to declare as the Mormon's have by their founding fathers that at one time many God's held council together, or that at some point a man can become a God. You are now "Polytheist" which means without a doubt that you are not following Christianity. So perhaps you were to say you were a Christian well then you would be guilty of breaking scripture, and Jesus reminds us "the scripture cannot be broken".
I would not argue with you about the how or the why! I would say this that if you are a Christian there is no question of your basic doctrinal beliefs they follow the Bible.
Outside this fact you add nothing to or take anything away from what God has said in his word. Delivered by the Apostles and disciples of Christ! No new revelation that contradicts
God's word can be added. God makes the Bible so that comparisons are not going to stand if they don't align themselves to what has already been revealed. The best way to explain this might be be relaying something from another religious text to what the bible teaches. For instance equating Jesus and Satan as brothers,or saying that Satan was anything more than what the Bible declared him to be. People even say that knowing God is enough. The Bible tells us these three statements are far from truth so far in fact that they are fantasy!
Anyone who reads God's word knows that Jesus is God and that Satan is merely a created being. Jesus is deity ,Satan is not deity, nor was he ever ,in fact ,he is predisposed to worship God. The Angels as it was taught will be judged by man. So if we are to judge the Angels,Satan being an Angel. How then would we equate him to be more than man. Physically yes and mentally yes he exceeds our fleshly abilities. On God's directive though the angels become servants and worshippers of God Almighty!
The statement being made that God is enough is also incorrect in the fact that Jesus declared he was the only way to heaven. I once had a man tell me he was good and believed God would save him well the fact is that this salvation is based on what he believes not what he feels. God told us what it takes to be saved(requirements) Romans 10:9-16. God told us
why he saves John 3:16. God also told us the key in this equation is belief in Jesus, John 14:6. God then tells us what to look for in a disciples life after he is saved John 8:31-32.
Now this is primarily a Christian Website so we deal the Bible as God's awe inspiring and perfect word! We realize the canon of scripture and the original Greek text pose differences in literal text,however the meaning and declarations remain unchanged over three thousand years.

(A LETTER FROM THE APOSTLE PAUL ABOUT FALSE RELIGIONS ENTERING THE CHURCH!)

Paul's letter to the Colossians is written from Rome some time around A.D. 61 or 62, during his first Roman captivity (A.D. 61-63). This is the period of time covered in Acts 28:16-31.

The letter was apparently delivered by Tychicus and Onesimus. Onesimus was a native of Colossae (Colossians 4:7-9). He was a runaway slave of Philemon, who ending up in Rome, was converted by Paul (Philemon 15-16, 10).

Collosians 2:1 For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Col 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Col 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2:4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

Col 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Corinth as well had followers who needed to be encouraged about the most Holy Faith in Christ, that Paul had preached to them,His Letters to these Churches encouraged them to fight the good fight and abstain from anything unbecoming a follower of Christ! this includes False Doctrines,


Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
Col 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Col 2:19 And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
