Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition

Preview:

Pokémon fans, get ready for the next adventure for your Game Boy Color, Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition!

Pokémon Yellow is almost exactly like Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, but it is enhanced for the Game Boy Color. The game features all new portraits of the 150 Pokémon (including the ones you trade for using the Link Cable), and also features all new onscreen colors to help players understand where to go. These new graphics are designed to bring the game up-to-speed graphically with the insanely popular Pokémon TV show.

In addition to these changes, Pokémon Yellow stars everyone's favorite Pokémon: Pikachu! When the game first starts, Prof. Oak is shown catching a Pikachu in the tall grass outside of Pallet Town, and when Gary and Ash go to Oak's lab to receive their Pokémon, Gary automatically gets Eevee and Ash (Player 1) gets Pikachu!

Once Gary and Ash have battled in Oak's Lab, Pikachu follows your character around onscreen throughout the entire game. Much like the popular GigaPet-type Pikachu toy, this onscreen Pikachu features various moods, from bored when you haven't battled in a while, to happy when he battles and wins!

While Pokémon Yellow isn't an all-new game, it would be a great starting point for fans of the TV show that have yet to play the game. However, if you've already become bored with Red or Blue, don't expect Yellow to hold your interest for very long.
