| Upon a cross our Savior died Some laughred more cried For after dying from crucifixtion Christ and the cross became a fixation He died for us all He died but didn’t fall From that day forth it was born On that gloomy rainy morn People gathered near and far Walking or riding no car They came to see the Saviour die And most but not all did cry Upon his death the cross marked It’s journey was henceforth embarked Becoming a symbol of him everywhere Giving people hope wonder and care These days it’s raised on a church Hung around a neck or carved out of birch This symbol took us up And we became full of wonder like a pup The cross gave more reasons to believe We can rejoice and no longer grieve For with the cross as a symbol Remaining in glory but still nimble God and Jesus continue on Helping us through life to be strong |
