Tenchi Masaki

Tenchi Masaki was an ordinary boy who used to live an ordinary life. Until that fateful day when he released Ryoko from the Masaki shrine. Then it seems like everyone else came in a flash, Ayeka, Mihoshi, Sasami etc. After that his life was far from normal. He has an amazing power beyond those of others, including the ability to summon the legendary light-hawk sword. He is very strong and quick thinking, which he needs because he is constantly being pursued by Ayeka and Ryoko, two of the girls that reside with him. He is unsure to whom he really loves. A heir to the throne of Jurai, he lives with his father, Nobuyuki, and grandfather, Katsuhito or Yosho. His mother, Achika, died while Tenchi was still young, as a result of using fatal amounts of Jurai power in the battle with Kain in TMiL 1. Tenchi is strong-willed and he needs to use that in all the troubles he gets in.

Ayeka

Ayeka is the 1st princess of Jurai, along with her sister Sasami, who is the 2nd princess of Jurai. Of course, Ayeka is from the planet Jurai. She first arrived at Earth after receiving a signal from Mihoshi's ship. That was where she met Tenchi and Ryoko. Her arch-rival is Ryoko, and the two beautiful girls constantly fight, usually over Tenchi's love. Ayeka is madly in love with Tenchi as her former fiance left her. She does wield special Jurai powers which she uses in her battles with Ryoko. Her parents are the King and Queen of Jurai, Azusa and Misaki. She is supposedly only temporarily staying on Earth with Tenchi, but she has been there for quite some time. (Actually at the end of OAV ep. 13 She was supposed to return to Jurai but the series ended there) Along with her from Jurai are the guardian warriors Azaka and Kamidake.

Ryoko

Ryoko, the space pirate, is a fugitive basically. She was a feared space pirate, unitl she was sealed up in the Masaki Shrine, it was fate that Tenchi accidentally released her. Ryoko is the daughter of Washu. Ryoko is a demon, and has special powers, like teleportation. She can be very powerful and a great ally. But she can also be, basically a lazy pig sometimes. She is wild and uncontrollable. She is also very strong willed and is never afraid to say or show what she is thinking.She and Ayeka and enemies and constantly fight, usually over Tenchi. As you can tell, Ryoko in also in love with Tenchi, as is Ayeka. Though Ryoko has another arch-rival in Nagi. Her wild nature and past gives her plenty of enemies. Ryoko is also owns a cabbit/spaceship named Ryo-Ohki.

Sasami Jurai

Sasami is Ayeka's younger sister and 2nd Princess of Jurai.
She also resides at the Masaki household. She is a great cook and "maid", always cleaning up after somebody. She is very friendly and also very good with animals. Her best friend is Ryo-ohki. Has wisdom beyond her age.

Kiyone

Kiyone is a Galaxy Police detective. It looked like she would have had an exciting and productive career but, she was stuck with Mihoshi, the walking disaster. Since then, Kiyone really has had a struggle. Bad luck just seems to haunt Mihoshi. Just putting up with Mihoshi is enough! Kiyone is very strong-willed and smart. Probably the most down-to-earth person on the cast.

Mihoshi

Mihoshi is Kiyone's ditzy GP partner. Mihoshi is very clumsy and (how do I say not smart?) umm...not the best thinker in the world. She has good intentions, but they never seem to turn right. She also pursues Tenchi but not as fierce as Ayeka and Ryoko. Mihoshi isn't just another dumb blonde, she just acts like that. =)
Seems to enjoy eating, sleeping and watching soap operas.
