Thoughts

Lying here in the darkness.
Many thoughts fly through my mind.
Thoughts of love and hate.
Of the living and the dead.
Music plays softly in the background,
However, I pay it no head.
These are but thought, never deed.
Thoughts which scare me.
Horrifies others.
They don't understand the difference between thought and deed.
They see a child, obsessed with death.
Fascinated by the darkside.
But they don't understand.
The pain, the fire, deep inside my soul.
In my heart.
There is a place consumed.
This fire consumes me inside out.
I don't care, I'll never tell.
Never tell the truth.
As many thoughts run through my head.

Roses

A garden, full of red roses
I inhale their intoxicating perfume
Remembering another flower
Gone in the blink of an eye.
She came and went,
Silent.
Only remembered in pictures and stories and hot bitter tears.
And a small heart shaped gravestone
A small angel
Double; split;
Fold one;
Break the other.

Windy whispers

Sometimes I walk alone
Through the crowded hall of school
My mind so far away
Lost in thought, far away.
I watch the antics of the others
And I wonder-
If I pricked you, would you bleed?
Or would there only be a gust of air,
As if a ghost exhaled?
Shadows flitting unaware
Of the light which flickers on and off and on.
Unaware of the darkness which lurks
Waiting for the light to go off
To swallow you whole.

Rainy mornings

Silently I walk
Across the noisy street
Cold wind whipping and
My wet hair stinging
My face red and numb
Cross my arms, stay warm
Raindrops fall on me alone
Shiver
Cold
Wet
Will he ever come?
I stand there waiting
Shivering
Stopped
Now.
Getting warmer
Lean on the pole
Close my eyes
Under a dead light pole.

Eyes

The eyes in the mirror
Stare back
Cold, deep knowing all your hidden secrets
The piece of candy filched from the candy dish
The pumpkin you smashed
The bug you put in your sister's bed.
You watch
Entranced
You can't fight it
They pull you in
Upon yourself
You fall into the emerald pools
Struggling, choking for air
But eventually you weaken.
And you are consumed.
Then the trance is broken
And you shake off the shackles
Of truth
You keep hidden deep inside
Only allowed out
In those moments you leave
Unguarded.

Witches

Witches hiding all about
Hiding, for fear of death
Those who do not understand
React with fear and horror
They tear our books of shadows,
Fearing the powers within
They have nothing to fear if they understand the motto of "do no harm"
When they think of witches, they think
Ugly hags from their movies.
Black devils flying through the sky on broomsticks
Hanging, hysterical.
Spirits tormenting and evil.
We do no such thing.
We believe different, that is all.
Why do you fear us?
If we would harm you, do you really think you'd still be standing there?

Fate

We met so long ago
But in my heart I've always known
That you were meant for me
Together for eternity.
I thought that I could forget you,
When you went away
But my love for you got stronger
Each and every day.
I used to lay in bed at night
Missing you so bad.
Part of me was crying
Another part was mad
You left so fast.
Without a backward glance.
I thought you had forgotten me.
I thought you didn't care.
Then I got your letter.
And all else faded away
When I tore it open
And saw your name.
Our love might break all the rules.
But just see if I care.
We'll be together, my love
Hope springs eternal,
As does my love for you.

Faces

How many faces must I wear?
I play so many roles.
The good little daughter, the hard working student, the carefree teen, blessed by gods grace.
Then there's the real me.
The one no one sees.
Silly sometimes, often sad.
There's much more than meets the eyes.
Thinker, philosopher, dreamer extraordinare.
Explore each path, follow none.
Christian, Atheist, Wiccan, I've tried them all.
My mind goes anywhere.

My love

If you ever need me
You need only think of me
And I will be there.
Our hearts, our souls are one.
They try to poison our love with their pain and anger
That they should make us as miserable as they are
We are not like them
We are not part of that world.
Their world full of pain and hatred.
They scream while we hugged,
Killed while we kissed.
All the gods of history could not stop us.
We are one, forever more.
Others try to understand, but what do they know
Of the nights we both lay
On tearstained pillows, far apart in space.
But sharing heart and soul, crying out to unhearing
Ears of the sorrow and the love we share.
We prayed to the Lord, He didn't hear.
We prayed to the all the stars, they did not hear.
I called upon the Goddess, and you on the God, and together
We became one.
Until the Beltane fires burn, my love.
