Musings
My views on life and death and beyond:
I believe people's energies or souls are connected to certain others and that sometimes after they die that energy stays connected. When we go about our everyday lives in this hectic world, we have a kind of mind screen up that blocks all the energies around us from pounding on our brains. But then when we're really relaxed, like while trying to go to sleep, we let that shield down and we can feel those energies of the people we have loved.
I believe that there is something to be accomplished in each life. Energies are like part of a puzzle. Some people have accumulated more pieces of the puzzle than others, thus the varying levels of maturity and wisdom.
I don't believe in a God who sits around ordering the lives of 6 billion people on this world. The force most call God is an aspect of ourselves, the energy that is us, connecting to the rest of the world. It is always within ourselves, else it is nowhere, and then so are we.
Witchcraft
As I read more and more about witchcraft, I realize that maybe I've always been a witch, without knowing. Often as a child I recognized that I was different from the other kids. I liked to sit under this tree with forked branches, and just think. Once, a tornado ripped right past our apartment and took out another tree not 3 feet away, and yet I slept right through it. I just knew that it was ok. Our lives are intertwined with another world, where magick and dreams are real, tangible forces. Sometimes I can feel that world, a prickle on the back of my neck, a chill down my spine, hearing my name called out when there's no one there, that instinct that tells you there's something not right.
Magick isn't evil, it's different. Once when mankind was in its darkages, kings and priests tried to gain power, and decided that anything that was not their way had to be evil. Well, it's not the darkages anymore, or at least I hope not, and modern people have begun to understand the world around them, but slowly. Scientists try to measure and catalogue everything, but they have barely scratched the surface of universal knowledge. There are forces, like magick, that they don't yet understand. When you do a spell, and truly believe it will work, then you bend and push the earth's energy field to accomplish the intent.
By the way, a spell is simply a more active form of prayer. It is merely a different form. All religions are the same. Take for instance, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "Do as you will, an it harm none", it's the same. Call it God, Goddess, Isis, or Bob the monkey boy, for all it matters, it's not the name, it's the belief that the person has in that force that makes it work. For instance, have you ever been in or watched a choir that worked well together, who's voices lifted together so perfectly, it moved you? Especially if you've ever been in one like that, you know what I'm talking about. That thrill you get when you finish the song to a standing ovation, knowing that you all gave your best. Songs have power. When you sing, you stop thinking about the mundane things of your life and focus on the sound. It's a form of magick recognized even by the earliest peoples.
If Shakespeare had it right, and life is but a dream, then let's make it a lucid one. Avalon may have receded into the mists forgotten, but we can create a place like that, full of magick and power. The world is as we choose to make it. We can choose to see only the bad, the corrupt, and the evil, or we can see all that is good in this world. Reality is in our minds, and we can change it to suit our needs and desires. Does this computer only exist because I believe it so, do you? Some people believe the world is fixed, static, but I don't. If I were to wish this document to vanish, and wish it strongly enough, it would. Sure, it might just be that my computer freaks out and looses it, but it would happen.
LIFE IS NOT ABOUT THE END RESULT, BUT THE JOURNEY, THE EXPERIENCES, THAT MAKE IT ALL WORTH WILD.
