Sun Fire Cooking envisions everyone in Somalia working to protect and reclaim the land for future generations. We can see a future when environmentally friendly alternative energy, such as solar, replaces charcoal for cooking.
Mission
To help reduce the devastating cutting of trees for fuel, Sun Fire Cooking will encourage people in Somalia and east Africa to move away from using forest energy sources for cooking.We aim to revolutionize the culture of cooking by promoting solar cooking wherever possible. When solar cooking is not practical, we will promote fuel-efficient cooking, such as the use of kerosene pressure stoves in preference to either wood or charcoal.
