"Bad Taste" (1988, Peter Jackson)
8 out of 10 stars
Aliens come to Earth to catch food for their fast food chain, to please the galaxies's demand for the latest fad: human meat pies. A must for fans of "Dead Alive", "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", and "Eating Raoul".
"Basket Case"(1982, Frank Henenlotter)
8 out of 10 stars
A gory and hilarious horror film about siamese twins who want vengence for their seperation. One twin looks normal, the other is horribly deformed. If you are mildly interested in this summary, you will love the movie. Followed by two underrated sequels.
"Basket Case 2"(1990, Frank Henenlotter)
9 out of 10 stars
Misunderstood sequel where the twins venture to live with Grannie Smith, an old woman who owns a shelter for the oddities of the world. An interesting love scene with another deformed twin, and a house full of wonderful charectors makes this a must see. Followed by the epic "Basket Case 3"!
"Basket Case 3: The Progeny"(1992, Frank Henenlotter)
10 out of 10 stars
This movie is as good as movies get! Belial, the deformed twin, and his deformed soul mate have eight bouncing (literally) babies, and when the police kidnap the babies, chaos breaks loose! There are so many wonderful sub-plots to this film, you will have a permanent smile on your face after watching it! Featuring a musical number that rivals the greatest works of Andrew Lloyd Webber!
"Bambi Meets Godzilla" (1969, Marv Newland)
8 out of 10 stars
A spoof of endless credits that involves the meeting of these two cinematic titans. It will probably take you longer to read this review than to watch the movie. You can find this on the tape "Hardware Wars".
"Beginning of the End"(1957, Bert I. Gordon)
6 out of 10 stars
Giant, radiation-spawned grasshoppers attack Chicago, causing Peter Graves to come to the rescue. Known for using real grasshoppers, as opposed to the stop-motion insects that were popular at the time. Also available unut on DVD, with optional MST3K commontary.
"Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls" (1970, Russ Meyer)
8 out of 10 stars
Not as outrageous as it claims, this tale of sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll from breast-master Russ Meyer was co-written by film critic Roger Ebert. Slightly more mainstream than most of Meyer's exploytation pics, it was hailed by many critics as one of the 20th centuries must-see films. Not worth the twenty bucks I spent on it though.
"Blade Runner"(1982, Ridley Scott)
7 out of 10 stars
Interesting Sci Fi film, based on the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep". Drags at some parts, wonderful at others. Basically, cops hunt down renegade replicants, which are syntheticaly produced human slave who, with only days left to live, search madly for a way to extend their prescribed lifetimes. But, of course, you knew that. Right Max?
"Blazing Saddles"(1974, Mel Brooks)
9 out of 10 stars
Comedy classic that parodies western films. That's all I want to tell you because I don't want to spoil it. See it NOW! NOW! NOW! NOW!
"Blood Feast"(1963, H.G. Lewis)
8 out of 10 stars
Bloody exploytation film about a crazy caterer/anthropologist/Egyptian high priest butchers hapless young women to splice them together to bring an Egyptian goddess back to life. Low budget classic, a must for all gorehounds! Hershall Gordon Lewis, the director, also did the soundtrack.
"Blue Velvet"(1986, David Lynch)
9 out of 10 stars
Disturbing, off-beat drama flick about the dark side of American suburbia. It starts with an innocent college youth who finds a severed ear in an empth lot, and is thrust into a world of depravity, murder, sex, and music. Dennis Hopper steals the show.
"Brain Damage"(1988, Frank Henenlotter)
8 out of 10 stars
Tounge-in-cheek farce that involves a guy who finds a brain eating parasite. The parasite addicts our hero to a blue liquid he injects into the back of the hero's head. In exchange for the liquid, the hero must allow the parasite to get brains. A beautifully done film with anti-drug symbolism running rampant. A must for "Basket Case" fans.
"The Brain That Wouldn't Die"(1963, Joseph Green)
7 out of 10 stars
Interesting flick about a guy who saves his lover's decapitated head from a car wreck and gives her/it life. Available uncut on DVD with optional MST3K commontary.
"Brazil"(1985, Terry Gilliam)
9 out of 10 stars
Nightmare black comedy about an everyman who tries to survive in a paperwork based society. Wonderfully done, and only decent in it's uncut version. A must see.
"The Bride Of Re-Animator" (1989, Brian Yuzna)
8 out of 10 stars
Herbert West is back and this time.....he wants female life ! High camp, wit, and low-budgit but well executed special effects are in the sequel to the hugely popular H.P. Lovecraft novel. |
