"The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" (1989, Terry Gilliam)
8 out of 10 stars
Tall tales about a Baron that involveThe King of the Moon, Venus, and other interesting charectors, in what is best described as a "circular narrative". Very well done and underrated. Gilliam uses special effects better than anyone else in the business.
"The Adventures Of Buckaroo Banzai Across The Eighth Demention"
(1984 , W.D. Richter)
7 out of 10 stars
A wild adventure where Buckaroo Banzai(Peter Weller), who is your basic Japanese-American neurosurgeon-rock star-adventurer-particle physics expert. With a few slow parts and weak jokes, this sci-fi goofball comedy is one of the few cult flick that can be enjoyed bu the whole family (providing, the whole family are neurosurgeons).
"Airplane!" (1980, Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams, David Zucker)
8 out of 10 stars
An off the wall comedy about everything that can go wrong on an airplane ride ! This classic lampoon of disaster flicks is funny, but stupid (and sometimes both)and it lauched a buch of wanna-be parodies. If you enjoyed "BASEketball", you might want to check out this parody flick.
"Airplane 2: The Sequel" (1982, Ken Finkelman)
7 out of 10 stars
Missing the sharp wit and parody of the first, this tale of the first commercial flight to the moon with a bomber on board can be missed. Remember, if you watch this film, the s*** will hit the fan.
"All You Need Is Cash"(1978, Eric Idle, Gary Weis)
8 out of 10 stars
The Rutles, aka the "Pre-Fab Four", star in this musical parody of The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night." Served as the inspiration for "This is Spinal Tap".
"The Amazing Colossal Man"(1957, Bert I. Gordon)
6 out of 10 stars
Standard '50's Sci Fi flick that reverses the idea of "The Incredible Shrinking Man". Colonel Manning is massivly exposed to Plutoniumwhen he gets too close to an A-Bomb test while trying to rescue people from a crashed plane. After being angered from being studied, he wrecks havoc on an unexpecting Las Vegas. Camp. Followed by "War of the Colossal Beast."
"Amazon Women On The Moon" (1987, John Landis)
8 out of 10 stars
This "Kentucky Fried Movie"-esqe parody is one of the funniest ever committed to celluloid. It basically is a plotless sketch movie about different movie channels. Worth buying (since the DVD is only $9.99 at Sam Goody) it is one of Landis's finest.
"American Psycho" (2000, Mary Harron)
10 out of 10 stars
Contriversial, misunderstood, and most of all, eye-opening, this is one of the best movies of 2000! Patrick Bateman is a wealthy man who enjoys exercise, fine dining, and MURDER ! An awesome satire piece of the late eighties, make this the next movie you seen ! From the director of the far-less enjoyable "I Shot Andy Warhol".
"Andy Warhol's Bad" (1977, Jed Johnson)
3 out of 10 stars
Overrated bad bad taste film about a woman who owns an at home electrolysis clinic and all-female murder-for-hire operation. Not as cool as it sounds. Avoid like the plague.
"Andy Warhol's Dracula" (1974, Paul Morrissey)
7 out of 10 stars
Interesting, one-of-a-kind telling of the legend of Dracula. Sex, blood, and camp humor highlight this, the best of the Warhol films. Featuring Roman Polanski in a cameo appearence as a pub patron.
"Andy Warhol's Frankenstein" (1974, Paul Morrissey)
6 out of 10 stars
Definetly one of the Campbell soup man's campiest outings, this flick is vastly over rated by other pages. It concerns Baron von Frankenstein's quest for sexual satisfaction as he reassembles corpses for his bride-tobe. Originally made in 3-D, this one is worth skipping.
"Assult of the Killer Bimbos"(1988, Patti Astor)
2 out of 10 stars
Horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE film! When a go-go dancer is framed for the murder of her boss, she takes for the Mexican boarder with two of her girlfriends. Words cannot express the horribleness. If you see this at your video store, rent it and BURN IT!
"Attack of the 50 foot Woman"(1958, Nathan Hertz)
5 out of 10 stars
Overrated campy film about a housewife who grows to massive proportions after an encounter with a giant alien. The 1993 Christopher Guest remake is much better.
"Attack of the 50 Foot Woman"(1993, Christopher Guest)
8 out of 10 stars
Remake that is MUCH better than the original. From the director of "Best in Show" and "Waiting for Guffman". Same plot as the original, executed much better. Darryl Hanna is wonderful as the lead role.
"Attack of the 60 Foot Centerfold"(1995, Fred Olen Ray)
8 out of 10 stars
J.J. North stars as Angel Grace, a centerfold who wants her already sizable proportions to be increased. When she overdoses on Breast Enlargement juice, she grows to become 60 feet tall! Another winner from the director of "Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers".
