This site has been developed to help genealogical researchers in finding data on their ancestors. Our goal should be to locate as much data as possible on our ancestors before we begin searching in Poland or another country. Some cemeteries records contain the names of parents, which helps in knowing if we are working on the right family in Poland. Our hope is that the effort to provide you with this information will help someone further your research
Our first contributions to the project are for two cemeteries located in South Bend, Indiana. James Piechorowski transcribed this data onto an Excel spread sheet for submission. St. Casimir and St. Hedwig contains 3,107 entries. St. Casimir has 414 entries, and St. Hedwig has 2,693. Thank you very much, Jim.
If anyone wishes to donate data, please check with Tina Ellis to make sure someone has not already started a project for the same cemetery. We do not want someone doing a cemetery, which someone has already begun.
Please note, data will be added as it is received. The two cemeteries in Indiana will take a few weeks to complete. When it is compled, notification will be sent to the Poland Border Surnames mail list. In the mean time, you are welcome to check back, as the entries progress.
