Rare pokémon

Make sure you Save right before attempting to catch any of these,
because if one runs away, or dies before you catch it, you don't
get another chance.

SNORLAX:
First, you must go to the Casino place with the slot machines and
there is a team rocket member in the back. Talk to him and then
you'll fight him. After, press 'A' on the picture behind him: this
will open a secret door. Go through the secret door, beat the
building and you will get a Silph scope. Go back to the place with
the ghosts and go in that tower. Go all the way to the top then
you'll fight Cubone mothers which you can now see because you have
the Silph scope. Then go up fight the team rocket members. After
that, talk to the guy you rescue and he'll give you the Pokéflute!
The Pokéflute will help wake up Snorlax
Type: Normal
Level: 30
First beat them up when he uses rest reduce under half and use
Wiggytuff to put him to sleep then use an ultra ball to capture.
Location: Before cycling road.

ARTICUNO:
Type: Ice
Level: 50
Catching strategy: Have any normal type at L: 45-51. Reduce life
less than half. Use ultra ball to capture.
Location: Seafoam Islands

ZAPDOS:
Type: Electricity
Level: 50
Use Articuno's ice beam then use a master ball to capture.
Location: Power Plant

MOLTRES:
Moltres is in the victory road cave on the third level from the
entrance (bottom I think) To catch it, weaken it and then put it
to sleep.

Of all the legendary birds I've found Zapados is the easiest to
capture (which isn't saying much!) sence it is possible to capture
it when it has nothing wrong with its status (such as sleep or
paralize) and it is possible to capture it when it's health bar is
more then just a sliver. Once you have captured Zapados you can
use it to quickly lower the health level of Articuno and Moltres
(for these last two I needed to reduce their defence or make them
go to sleep to even hit them with a pokeball).

MEWTWO:
To find the ominous "Mewtwo", go to Cerulean City and travel up
the bridge toward Bill's. When you reach the end of the bridge, go
to the left and us the surf ability. Follow the river until you
reach a cave. This is the unknown dungeon, (like it says in the
map in the instructions). Now, travel through it to find Mewtwo.
He's at level 70!!! Remember: You get one chance.

OR

After beat the pokémon league, the credits will roll and then the
menu pops up again. DO NOT RESET THE GAME! Go to Cerulean City and
then go north to the bridge where you faced 5 trainers before the
path to Bill's house. Turn left and there will be a large area of
water. Surf until you get to a cave. You will find Mewtwo in that
cave.

Help with finding and defeating Sabrina

When you enter the Saffron City gym you'll see a warp next to a
trainer. Step into it. You'll appear in another room full of warps
and a Trainer. Step into the warp on your left. Then step into the
warp below you. Then step into the warp on your left. And then,
step into the warp on your left.

Once done that, you'll come in to a room with one warp and that's
the one your standing on. Now talk to the trainer in the room,
and get ready to defeat Sabrina.

Here are the Pokémon she will use:

Kadabra - L38
MR. MIME - L37
Venomoth - L38
Alakazam - L43

These are all psychic Pokémon and very powerful. Your best bet
against these guys is a Venusaur or any other grass-type Pokémon.
Use your Razor Leaf if you have a Venusaur. If you win you'll
receive her Marsh Badge which will ensure any Pokémon up to L70
will obey you. You'll also get a TM46.

Fight Pokémon from any area beside the seafoam Islands

Here's a trick you can do to fight pokémon in the Safari Zone
outside of it. Enter the Safari Zone, exit and go to the eastern
side of Seafoam Islands. Move up and down along the "shore" part
to fight pokémon from the Safari Zone! This makes it easier to
capture them. The bad part is that there are some pokémon that you
won't find.

OR

To fight land pokémon on water, go to the eastern side of Seafoam
Islands. Surf up and down along the eastern coat to do that. The
pokémon that you fight are from the area you last visited. This
even works with Safari Zone!

OR

I have a useful trick. This works with any area in the US version.
I'll use the Safari Zone for example. Go into the Safari Zone and
come out. Now go to the pokémon Center in Fuschia City. Go straight
down from it; you should come to some water that leads to Seafoam
(Route 19&20). Go to the far left side of the coast and follow the
wall down all the way to Seafoam Islands. DON'T GO IN SEAFOAM
ISLANDS! Instead, go swim up and down the coastline where it looks
like you are halfway on land and halfway on water. You should run
into Safari Monsters after a couple of seconds. Now you can use Ultra
Balls and other great items instead of Bait, Rocks, and Safari Balls.
THIS WILL NOT MESS UP YOUR GAME. It has never messed any game up
under any circumstances.

OR

OK.This is for both versions:
1. Go to Safari Zone and then recive 30 safari balls.
2. Right when you enter the safari zone, leave.
3. The guy should say leaving early. Say yes.
4. Then after you leave safari zone go to the seafoam island. But dont
go on the land.
5. Stay along the cost and just go up and down while still on your
water pokémon that you ride on.
6. You should run into wild pokémon from safari zone.
7. And the good thing is you can use your own pokémon and Pokeballs
(pokeball, greatball, ultraball) to caputre safari zone pokémon!!

OR

Here's a trick that allows you to fight Pokémon from one area of the
game, to another area! Don't get it? Listen up! Here's an example on
how to do it: That annoying place where you catch the good Pokémon, yep
, the Safari Zone!! Go there and battle for a while. Lets say, you
can't catch a Tauros, fight one, then leave the Safari Zone. After, go
to the island where Articuno is found, Seafoam Island I believe, and
swim up to the shore. Now, swim up and down the shore, where it looks
like you're on the ground, but your swimming in the water, and you'll
fight monsters from the Safari zone! No more rocks and bait, its
Psychic and Psybeam time! If you don't know what spot Im talking about,
here's how you get there; go to the shore of the town that has the
Safari zone (just go straight down from Pokémon Centre) and go against
the left wall when you hit water, use surf, and swim against the wall
down then left until you reach the first shore you see, which is Seafoam
Island then just go up and down as I said before and kick Pokémon butt!

OR

The safari zone is probably one of the most annoying places in the
whole game, Right? Well now you don't have to catch a single pokémon in
the Safari zone and still be able to catch all 150 pokémon. There is a
cheat in the game where you can play any pokémon in the game that you
have just seen and fight them with your own pokémon using any kind of
pokeball. Confused? follow these steps:

Step #1: Go to an area of pokémon which you would like to catch but
can't or don't have the right stuff(ex. The safari zone-
Kangaskan)fight that pokémon.
Step #2: Head to the Seafoam Islands.(use surf)
Step #3: At the dark part between the land and the water, just before
stepping on to the actual island, continue surfing until you
see a wild pokémon.
Step #4: WOW its a pokémon from the safari zone and It can be caught
with a normal pokeball, not the safari balls.

OR

Catch ghost pokémon without the silph scope
Now you don't have to have the silph scope and can still be able to
catch ghost pokémon. There is a cheat in the game where you can play
any pokémon in the game that you have just seen and fight them with
your own pokémon using any kind of pokeball else where in the game.
Confused? follow these steps:

Step #1: Go to an area of pokémon which you would like to catch but
can't or don't have the right stuff(ex. The pokémon tower-
gastly)fight that pokémon.
Step #2: Head to the Seafoam Islands.(use surf)
Step #3: At the dark part between the land and the water, just
before stepping on to the actual island, continue surfing
until you see a wild pokémon.
Step #4: WOW its a pokémon from lavander tower and I don't have the
silph scope.

OR

All you have to do is go to the area where that pokémon is, fight
that pokémon then go to the right side of the Seafoam Islands
(Outside not in the cave) and swim up and down the shore (right
beside the land) and you will fight pokémon from this area (and
the pokémon you wanted or faught).
Example: Say I wanted to catch a Scyther from the Safari Zone;
I would go to the Safari Zone, fight a Scyther then leave and
then SURF to the Seafoam Island and swim up and down the shore
and finally fight a Scyther and Catch it!! =)

OR

Go to area of SAFARI ZONE where the particular Pokémon you have
your eyes on resides. (e.g., KANGASKHAN in 2nd of 4 sections next
to starting section) Run around in that area until the time runs
out Head straight to SEAFOAM ISLANDS and SURF just along the edge
in the water (up and down on the coast) and SAFARI ZONE Pokémon
from that particular area will attack!

Unlimited time to catch water pokémon in the Safari Zone

Did you ever want to catch a Pokémon at the Safari Zone, but
always run out of time? If it was a water Pokémon, you're in luck!
This trick gives you Unlimited Time in the Safari Zone to catch
water Pokémon. First off, you may want to get a Good Rod or a
Super Rod. Next, go to the Safari Zone and go to some water. Then,
go into your items and use the rod. It should start fishing. If
you get a message that says "Not even a nibble", press A and then
quickly press start. If you got into a fight, check the Pokémon
out. If it is one you don't have catch it and then quickly press
start after the battle and go back into your items and fish again.
If you already have this Pokémon, run from it and then quickly
press start and start fishing again. This will help you catch some
good water Pokémon and have plenty of time to do it.

OR

In the Safari Zone, go fishing next to any pond. All you have to
do is stand still, don't fish anywhere else, and you will do fine.
The time only goes down when you walk. This is stated on one of
the signs in the Safari Zone.

Top 25 Pokémon (no order)

The 25 Best pokémon (in no particular order)
Blastoise - Probably the best Water pokémon in the game. Has
strong Attack, Defense, and Special power, and is
unstoppable with Hydro Pump.
Venusaur - The best Grass pokémon. A little bit more unbalanced
than Blastoise, but still very powerful with Solar
Beam.
Charizard - Not as good as Blastoise and Venusaur, but can still
put up a fight with its high Attack power, Slash,
and Flamethrower attacks.
Vaporeon - Another great Water pokémon. It learns many attacks.
Jolteon - The #1 Electric pokémon, mainly because it also gets
an advantage over Psychic and Normal and Ice and Rock
and Grass pokémon with Twineedle.
Flareon - Again, not as good as Vaporeon or Jolteon. It is
still a superior pokémon however.
Articuno - No doubt the best Ice pokémon. It has powerful
attacks and high Special power, which utilizes its
powerful Ice Beam and Blizzard.
Zapdos - Zapdos might be the best Legendary Bird. Fast and
strong, Thunder is usually a one hit KO.
Moltres - Not all that great at first, but is excellent once it
learns Sky Attack. It should have Flamethrower, but
it's stuck with Fire Spin.
Mewtwo - The ultimate pokémon. Nothing can beat this one.
Snorlax - A few Body Slams from him will bring almost any
pokémon down.
Dragonite - Maybe the second best pokémon in the game. Can
defeat most enemies with Hyper Beam.
Rhydon - The best Rock pokémon. Normal attacks won't make a
dent in it.
Hitmonlee - Is the best fighting pokémon because of its variety
of fighting attacks.
Hitmonchan - Appears better on paper, but Ice Punch, Fire Punch,
and Thunder Punch amount to nothing because of its
low Special power. Still packs a punch however.
Alakazam - Psychic pokémon can beat about anything, and
Alakazam's one of the best.
Machoke - A good fighting pokémon. It can wipe out almost
anything with Mega Punch.
Butterfree - The fixer-upper pokémon. It doesn't have any good
attacks besides Psybeam, but its stats give
Butterfree the potential to be a great pokémon with
the help of TMs.
Venomoth - Not much to say here, Venomoth has very powerful
attacks compared to Butterfree.
Victrybell - Petal Dance is a strong attack, and Victrybell makes
the best use of it.
Vileplume - Solar Beam can easily dispose of most pokémon, and
Gloom will learn it.
Lapras - Lapras's range of attacks, high Special, Attack, and
Defense power make this a dangerous pokémon to fight
against.
Gyarados - Though Gyarados was snubbed of the "Dragon" type it
deserved, it still is a strong, versatile pokémon.
Bite can deal lots of damage, Dragon Rage deals a
dependable 40 HP per use, Hydro Pump is practically a
one-hit KO, and Hyper Beam is the ultimate attack.
Aerodactyl - Extremely fast and strong. Take Down can nail anyone,
and Aerodactyl will almost always get the first hit.
Hyper Beam is also very powerful.
Kabutops - Has reliable attacks, high stats, and is a good
pokémon defensively.

Getting through Victory Road

Getting through Victory Road:
NOTE: you need a pokémon that knows the strength technique to move
the boulders that are found inside.

Go to the left and move the boulder onto the switch to the right,
the switches look like little round things. Now go up the stairs
onto the ledge and get off the ledge using the stairs on the left
side. You will now see a ladder with a trainer standing next to
it, go down this ladder. After going down the ladder walk down and
you will see another boulder and switch, move this boulder over
the switch. Now go up onto the ledge and follow it, on the other
end get off. Once off the ledge move right and you will see a
wall, now move up all the way, then move left. Go down the ladder.
YOu should now be on a new level and you should see a boulder, do
not move the boulder yet. Go up and then move left, keep going
until you see a little 'room' with a switch and a ladder in it,
this is the switch that you're supposed to put the boulder on.
After putting the boulder on the switch, go back to the ladder you
came from. DO NOT GO DOWN THE LADDER. What you need to do then is
walk onto the ledge that you see and follow it and go down the
stairs on the other end of the ledge. After getting off the ledge,
go all the way left and you will see a boulder with a hole next to
it (like the kind you find in Seafome Island). Drop the boulder
into this hole and then go down the hole yourself. Now go onto the
right side of the boulder and begin pushing the boulder all the
way to the left until you can't go any further. Put the boulder
onto the switch that you see. Now go up onto the ledge and you
will see a ladder, go down this ladder. Now move up and go down
the other ladder and *viola*, you're at the Victory Road exit!

Best use of vitamins.

If you're desperate, use them as soon as possible, but if you want
the full effect, do this. Remember that a pokémon can take about
10 Vitamins before it work anymore on it. It seems that a pokémon
with a much higher Level, gains more stat points if you use a
Vitamin on it. For example, a pokémon at L10 will only gain 1 stat
point for each Vitamin used which would mean it would gain 10
points for 10 Vitamins. But if you use one on a L100 pokémon, it
would gain a whopping 40 stat points! So my point here is this,
use the Vitamins on a pokémon when you have trained as far as you
can.

Yet Another Seafoam Cheat

Hi,I have gotten Mew without a Gameshark (Kinda). There are lots
of people at school that play pokemon and I fought one of them
that had a mew. Then after I fought him I flew directly to Cinnabar
Island and surfed up the right coast until I encountered one and
caught it. I did not us a Gameshark, but one was used for him to
aquire his Mew. This will help many people get (steal) a Mew that
dont own a Gameshark.
