The Simpsons movie
The series is cool but I actually liked the film better! There were a lot of spoofs and extremely funny parts. There has been a few series which have made the big screen which have been just as good and this is one of them! A lot of people like the whole spider pig thing, which is quite cool (just watch it and you’ll know what I’m talking about!) The plot line was well made and still captured the Simpsons personalities to there best from the series. Theres also more three-dimensional bits it the film which make it more watchable. I give this film a 8/10 because you can watch it lots of times without getting bored and is a great change from just watching the series.
Over her dead body
After watching the trailers for this film, I later decided to buy it on DVD. Although the trailer made the film look better than it actually was, it was still a pretty cool film. Eva Longoria Parker is good in this film. There was a real charming quality to this film, and great for teens to watch. There were know real surprise however, a lot of the time you could guess what was going to happen but worth the watch, so I give it 7/10.
Take the Lead
This film is out of this world, the tale is really inspiring. It teaches people to follow there dreams and in this case a dancing career. Antonio Banderas becomes the detention teacher and in detention he teaches ballroom dancing, the teens put a hip-hop streak into it and the end dance sequence is so cool! I also liked the bit where the teacher brings in a ballroom dancer ad they do the tango, showing ballroom can be sexy! 8/10
Step up
This is a film I aobut tyler (channing tatum) who has to do community service at a dance school as a cleaner, this is where he meets Nora and ultimately becomes her dance partner. Theres lots dancing scenes which is great if you love dancing. I really enjoyed this film, again it was really inspiring and exicting to watch!! 8/10
Step up 2
Great follow on to step up, its more edgy and out there, the dancing is even better than in the first film and although Tyler and Nora are not main characters it’s a winning film. For anyone who likes hip hop dancing this is a must watch!! There are a lot more dancing scenes than in the original film also. Its sexy, its cool, it’s the bomb!!! 10/10
Transformers
Although I’m not into the whole transformers thing (bit young for me!) this film really surprised me. The action scenes were amazing, there was lots of adrenaline and suspense. Shia LaBeouf and Tyrse Gibson work well together and even though its only a film, they make a great couple, they act well and add excitement to the screen. For a film that is based on kids toys, its really not that bad, it appeals to a wide audience including families which is why I give it a 7/10
No reservations
The concept of cooking for the main theme of the film is quite unusual, but it works because of this and because its original. It’s a real heart-felt film because Kate’s sister dies therefore having to look after her niece. Abigail Breslin plays the niece, she’s also been in little miss sunshine which I liked her in, even though she’s so young, she’s a really good actress. It would say it reaches a wide audience, because it appeals to families and teens/young adults. The plot works well and it’s a real feel good film, I give it a 9/10
Love Wrecked
In my opinion this a really funny and cool film but I know some may find it a little silly and daft. It imagine although I 21, it may appeal to younger girls/teens because of the whole rock star icon concept. Amanda Bynes makes this film work, she’s hilarious to watch but has a serious side when it comes to falling in love = ) You may know Amanda from shes the man, where she dresses up as a boy, that’s also hilarious too. Not a film to e taken too seriously, for a laugh, I give it 7/10
I am Sam
This film is about a man called Sam with a handicap, he becomes a farther but faces loosing custody, but he fights for his little girl and gets a great lawyer who he becomes great friends with. There are some insightful messages portrayed and it’s a really heart-felt and beautiful story. Dakota Fanning is a beautiful young actress with so much talent, she’s plays Sam’s daughter exceptionally well and is sooo talented! Its not everyone’s cup of tea however I give it 9/10
Because I said so
Mandy Moore plays a daughter whose mother is always trying to set her up with men. Her mother finds two men wanting to date her daughter but mother is determined for her to date the architect, although he is great, daughter wants to date the musician. The film shows her mother has some problems. It’s a really sweet film, with lots of amusing parts!!! Its great for all those true romantics 9/10
