This subject of FMLA is becoming a very hotly debated subject as employers including ours are under much pressure from many sources as to how the ACT effects employees. In Brief, the ACT provides for up to 12 weeks of leave for serious illness for the employee or a dependant per 12 months to receive treatment or care for a dependant. The leave can be in lumps or in periodic installments.
