IT'S HERE!!!
MAJOR SPOILER WARNING...
Holy crap! Dumbledore is dead!!! And Snape killed him! I have to admit, I didn't see it coming. I always thought Snape was good really. Harry was right all along. I guess Snape just exposed Dumbledore's greatest weakness: he trusted people too much. The only way I see Snape turning out good after this would be if Dumbledore had ordered Snape to kill him. Something
to do with Harry had to know Dumbledore was dead to kill Voldemort in the end. Also it appeared Snape wouldn't kill Harry while the other death-eaters were more than willing. This book also makes you feel sorry Draco who wouldn't kill Dumbledore, maybe there's still hope for him? Lots of people die in this book too, including Emmeline Vance, Madam Bones, Igor Kakaroff, and several of the student's families. Now only one of the head ministers from the wizarding schools remain from book 4. Several things about other major and minor characters: Narcissa and Draco Malfoy play a way bigger part (as does Blaise Zabini), Peter Pettigrew is living with Snape (Snape hates the Marauders), Stan Shunpike is being held captive by the ministery, and Fudge is no longer the Minister of Magic. Ludo Bagman remains absent. The new characters are few but include the new Minister of Magic: Scrimgeour, and the new Potion teacher, Slughorn. Also Fenrir Greyback the homicidal werewolf. Did I mention Snape finally got the DADA job? Bad omens ahead...
Another relevation: Snape is the Half-Blood Prince! I know somebody got that right on Mugglenet somewhere, I still need to search for it. Man though, you sort of trusted the Half-Blood Prince all along as well. However, that trust was misguided. I should of known it was Snape because in his worst memory, I believe he used something like Sectumsempra on James Potter. Yeah, I found it, it's on the bottum of page 627 (American Edition) of OotP. Snape uses it on James, "there was a flash of light and a gash appeared on the side of James's face, splattering his robes with blood." It also looks like Snape has already mastered the art of saying spells mentally, doesn't it? I like the fact that the book could also be titled Harry Potter and Severus Snape and mean the same thing.
Now on to my favorite parts of the book, Voldemort's background. Man I loved that stuff. If they do it right, it could turn out to be a great part of the Half-Blood Prince movie. And it also leads us to the Horcruxes, the biggest relevation this book has to offer. It explains why Voldemort didn't die when he tried to kill Harry. The part I loved about the Horcruxes is that someone at Mugglenet hit it right on the head I KNOW! I KNOW! Why Voldemort Didn't Die An original editorial by Robbie Fischer. I read it, and I thought: HE WAS RIGHT! If you read the book, you know what they are now. Basically, Voldemort split his soul into seven pieces: one in his body right now, one in his snake Nagini, one in Slytherin's ring, one in Riddle's Diary from book 2, the others are supposedly hidden in relics from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Therefore, when the spell backfired on Voldemort when Harry was a baby, it didn't kill him because that was only one of his seven souls. So apparently, you have to destroy the six horcruxes before you can destroy the Voldemort existing inside the body. Two have been desroyed so far: Slytherin's ring, and Riddle's Diary (why this book is related to Chamber of Secrets I believe). I sort of wished though, that one of the Horcruxes was Harry himself. That's why he can speak Parsel-tongue and crap. Maybe in book 7.
Harry and his friends also grew in this book. First off, yes Harry and Ginny are now together. It kind of made me ill. I never really saw them together and it happened so fast. Personally, I was hoping for Harry/Hermione or Harry/Tonks. When we're on the subject of Tonks: Harry thought she was in love with her second cousin, eww! Turns out Tonks likes Lupin? That was kind of random, and at the end I kind of bit my tongue when I heard. That part was corny. The only relationships that really worked in this book and seemed real were the Ron/Lavender Brown/Hermione triangle and Bill/Fluer. Yeah, I wanted Harry with Hermione, but it didn't work out so I guess she can be with Ron. The Bill/Phlegm romance was the most touching in the book.
I'm really looking forward to book 7. Harry ain't going back to Hogwarts now that Dumbledore is dead. He's going to go to the Dursley's for a little during the summer and attend Bill and Fluer's wedding, then he is setting out to find the Horcruxes. Harry also informs us that he's going to return to Godric's Hallow and visit his parent's graves. This also coming to the finally with the showdown. I like how the book leaves off, with Harry's friends saying they're coming with him on his last great adventure.

Sirius isn't dead?-
Sirius is not dead. When Sirius is dueling he gets stunned and falls behind the veil! This leads me to believe that he is just elsewhere for the time being.

*If anything, people not excepting Sirius's death is a great testament to J.K. Rowling's story writing abilities. The first stage of grief is denial, you know? It's like people are trying to except a real death. Anyway, J.K.R. has teased with us so much I think she may have caused this denial herself. That's not bad, it's just true.
I was thinking about this denial thing because we're learning about this in Health. There is something called a delayed grief response. This is where you put off the death of a loved one for later. I think that's what could happen to alot of HP fans when they finally realize Sirius is, in fact, dead.
*It is possible for Sirius not to be dead. I think that Harry should've looked in that mirror he got from Sirius, but Harry misteriously forgets about it. We must remember that he used every single thing he had. Like in book 4, he gets that knife and he uses it just in the 5th book. I think that mirror hasn't finished its role. Sirius is alive!!!!

Memory Poem
Sometimes Im lonely,
I think of you and I smile
We knew each other well didnt we?
We had great times, but
now your gone
Life was fast and fun, and
now its sad and a pale shadow
of what it once was.
You were innocent,
So was I. Now Im not.
Wish you were here.
Remember when Id ask you
if youd like to be me?
If youd like my responsibilities?
Do you like not knowing?
To see but not know?
To hear but not listen?
To just live for others,
and be happy to know me.
The years went by and we
both grew up.
I changed but you didnt.
You stayed the same and
didnt know why I was changing.
I asked you the question again,
but you didnt answer.
You didnt know or listen.
Wish I were you back then.
When you died, I cried.
That part of my life was over, but
I could still remember those times
and you fondly,
with love deep in my heart.

*Harry's Hair-
What underlining message is J.K. Rowling giving us about Harry's hair? When it's cut, it grows back overnight. Which leads me to wonder if his hair even grows. Think about it, he'd have to cut it at some point if it did, because it would eventually crawl to his knees. What does this mean? Is there something special about Harry which is causing his hair to not grow? Does he have a defective hormone? Is this why Dumbledore's hair is so long, it can't be cut? Why is Voldemort bald? The last thing that leads me to Harry's hair is simply his name: Harry.

Hi, I just watched the Super Volcano movie on The Discovery Channel last night. It was a very informative 3-hour piece on Yellowstone and the dormant volcano below. I suggest watching it, especially if you live in a 300 mile radius of Yellowstone like I do. I live in Billings, Mt. Thats about 200 miles north of Yellowstone, and may I add, mentioned to be inhospitable after the volcano blew in the movie. I would of liked if it actually showed Billings covered in ash, and our Sheraton with a hole in it, but that was out of question apparently.
A Super Volcano is what Yellowstone is, a giant volcano under the ground. Unlike a normal volcano, with a peak and a smoking top, Yellowstone Valley is the volcano. In fact, thats what the valley is, the caldera. The only way we found out the monstrous proportions of this beast was when we took a picture of it from space. Horribly huge. Anyway, Yellowstone has blown its lid 3 times in past: all 640,000 years apart. As of about a 100 years ago, we are overdue. When the volcano does blow, it will cover the entire U.S. (even the Northeast) in at least a few centimeters of ash! You have to remember that Yellowstone is at least a thousand times greater than Mt. St. Helens in Washington. This is scary because it will also have a global impact. The worlds temperature will decrease significantly, rain will stop, the sun might be blocked out for a few months. Horrible.
I liked this movie a lot, but it still was kind of corny. The whole Walk to Life thing was stupid, and the fact the main character invented it was just dumb. In fact, the main character living at all was a little, you know, gay.
The thing that would of made this movie even better than it was, was if they focused on the people in the cities. That would of brought home more than some smart bastard sitting in a bunker. It would of been cool to see various families hiding in their houses as their worlds literally fall down on them. Awesome! But thats probably only me. Also, would having a slanted roof help to stabilize a collapse? Just wondering.
Good movie, in general. I enjoyed it.

I know this has nothing to do with Harry Potter, but I just took a trip to Seattle on a band field trip. It was such a pretty city; everything was so green compared to Billings. It rained everyday I was there for God's sake! If that happened here, we would have floods.
Going to Seattle is recommended in my opinion for many reasons. The first reason is the Sonics. I went to a game and I played trombone for pep band but no one was there to hear it. The game was awesome though! We won by 2 points playing the Blazers. Squatch, their mascot, was there and he was so bad ass. He looked like Chewbacca wearing a jersey. The next day I went to the Seattle Aquarium and then Pike's Market. The Aquarium was pretty awesome. You could touch star fish and other crap. I then went to Pike's Market and looked at all the crazy stuff there like the Curiosity Shop where they had mummified bodies. I wanted to buy one but no. I ate at Ivar's after that. Ivar's is famous for letting people feed seagulls. However, I took the opportunity to feed the pigeons and sparrows trapped inside their restaurant enclosure. My friends were just talking about how unsanitary the whole situation was when a pigeon landed on a nearby table and took a poop. I laughed, because my friend had ate scraps off our table earlier. I know all this stuff because after this I went on a boat tour, where I learned about the Seattle boardwalk.
The Woodland Zoo is good too. However, it's kind of unorganized, and I had a tough time seeing everything in the time given. But the cool thing was seeing the Gorillas. Okay, picture this, me and my friends running in just in time to see a big gorilla beating a smaller one for no apparent reason. It was getting pretty nasty until an even bigger gorilla came, and that quarrel stopped right there. The good part of the story is that after the battle, one gorilla started eating his own poo. He picked up a fresh terd, sniffed it, then fingered it and put it in his mouth, unfazed. The same gorilla then fell down to ground like he was posing for playboy, rubbed his finger on his butt-crack and then put it in his mouth. Awesome. Yeah, the mall sucked. Nothing to do. But hey! They have more than one mall, and the second one I went to was pretty good. No Mall of America though...
The Pacific Science Center and the EMP is where I went to next, where I watched this pretty cool Pink Floyd lazer show. I was impressed. My only complaints are the music was too loud that it blared, it got a little boring at the end, and they didn't play Another Brick In The Wall. I saw an Imax as well, so clear! A guy was already waiting out there for Star Wars over a month before it comes out! Weird. Overall, the Science Center was a little disappointing, as was the EMP. The EMP was alright, not enough autographed things, too much history. I would of loved to see more things autographed by The Beatles. I did play in a mock band. I was lame, but at least I wasn't stupid enough to buy the dvd for $20. I then went to the Space Needle, good view, too short of an elevator ride.
Seattle's a great city! It was so green and clean, and had so many Starbucks! Anyway, I enjoyed my time there and will probably remember it for the rest of my life. If I don't forget.
By the way, J.K. Rowling just updated the faq and rumours part of her site! Check it out now! Now! I demand it...

Sometimes when I get something really cool on the form I'm so amazed that somebody could write something so good. Here's a poem by Stef from Bristol that is a perfect example of what I'm talking about:
PROTECTION SPELL
"O Goddess, protect my loved ones every day, as they sleep and as they play.
Help them to always smile bright, and keep them safe in Your loving light.
Protect them from harm and from all they fear.
For they are the ones that I hold dear.
I thank the Goddess for helping me.
I trust in Her aid So mote it be!"
