House Elves- It is not known exactly how the house-elves became enslaved by wizardkind, but they currently are. Rich wizards with old blood often hold many elves as sub-servent humans who carry out meaningless tasks. These creatures may be small, but they have extraordinary magic. Some house-elves love their enslavement, others hate it, and others simply want to be free. One thing's for sure, house-elves are extremely important in some magical way possibly yet to be seen.
During book 6 the house-elves will probably lay pretty dormant. They seem unwilling to act if they don't have a leader, don't they? So until Dobby, at the end of the book rouses them to save Harry's life (probably Harry, Dobby seems to like him quite a bit). Without their help Harry (or whoever it is) would've been killed! So I believe in The Halfblood Prince there will be a transition. The elves will go from a subplot to the center of the story. What else could happen? (Winky will reammerge in this story too, probably) In book 7 they probably play an even bigger role when Dobby, Winky, & the rest of the house elves go to war against Voldemort. (Dobby has a hatred against the Death Eaters that I don't think has yet to be fully expressed.) The reason why I believe this is because the house elves have always been hinted at at being extremely powerful and important. The plots of 2-5 have seemingly been built up for some kind of finaly for the house elves. Why not a war? Dobby, most likely, gets many house elves to leave their masters except the truly corrupt ones (like Kreacher). This is extreme, I know, but J.K.R. has tackled many tough subjects (genecide, slavery, even a civil war-type thing). They are Voldemort's greatest enemy for the rest of the series and one of the only things Voldemort actually fears. (Would you be surprised that Voldemort would fear house elves, Lucius does.) At the end, I believe, Dobby will be made king of the house-elves and be given some rubied socks! LOL. And the house elves will be fate of their own destiny from then on. (Or will their have to be Civil Rights movement like a Martin Luther King of the house elves?) How old do house elves get anyway?

Giants- There is not much known about giants except they live hidden somewhere in the wilderness. The gigantine humans are reported to be incredibly brutallic and love slaughtering anything that moves. The giants have classes of kings down to lowly small giants, and their is many warring tribes. Not only are they big, but they also are genetically close enough to mate with humans.
At the beginning of book 7, I believe there's going to be a massive splitting of the giants, or in other words, a schism: the evil ones (the stronger ones) and the good ones (the of course, weaker ones) will split. I don't know about you, but it seems to me J.K.R. has hinted at this since book 4. The non-evil giants will fight bravely against the bad ones and, with the help of Dumbledore, finally defeat the evils. (Or will they?) But they may need training before they can kick some evil giant ash (have you seen Glory?) There'll probably only be like 10 left though, because, remember, the good giants are smaller and often beat up by the evil giants. (By-the-way, does this good-little giant and big-bad giant thing remind you too of Roald Dohl's "BFG"?) Dumbledore will most likely afterwards give them rights and then leave them to make a new civilization in the mountains, magically of coarse.

Acromantula- Acromantula are giant spiders that are intelligent enough to speak human languages. They originated in Borneo.
I think Dumbledore will go to Aragog and convince him to join with him. Better on Dumbledore's side than Voldemort's, right? Aragog is a good man, I believe, at heart, even though he tried to feed two innocent students to his flock. Hence, I believe he'll agree. Aragog will want to join Dumbledore, but half of his kin won't (the corrupt ones). A massive fight between them will break out and, who know, maybe only 3/4 will live. Half of three quarters will go with Voldemort, but the other half go with Dumbledore (with them Aragog and his wife). The spiders, if they do fight, will probably lead to massive casualities on each side. (This would also be incredibly creepy, considering they're spiders.) Aragog will die somehow at the end. Heck, he is old, who doesn't expect him to die? (Old wize men, errrr...things always tend to die it seems.) But before this, Ron and him will probably become allies at some point! haha! Do you expect J.K. Rowling to miss out on that sight gag?

Goblins- Goblins are incredibly intelligent and sly people with long fingers. They have incredible magic and guard the Gringotts Bank under London. It is known that there have been many bloody goblin rebellions which is kind of scary for the future. They are obscessed with gold and often feel oppressed by man.
The goblins will completely side with Voltemort. The reason I believe this is because they believe this will be the only way they can gain equal rights to the wizards. Wizards, it seems, heve been real bass terds to them lately. They are ferocious fighters, and there will be probably thousands of the things. (I'm guessing there'll be bigger ones than the ones we've seen!) Remember that J.K.R. has often hinted at somthing being especially special and deadly about the goblins. They will be one of the reasons things look bleak for Dumbledore at the beginning of book 7, but at the end the goblins will switch sides when they realize what they've become (they're good too, at heart), and will be one of the reasons Voldemort will lose at the end... Voldemort will never give them equal rights either, they come to believe (remember the pureblood thing). They will gain rights at the end of the books and be equal to the wizards for the first time in history! (maybe...see house elves, nothing is ever that simple)

Centaurs- The Centaurs are extremely noble and wise beings, but if the time is right, brutally violent. They are half-man--half-horse people with the torso and head of a man and the legs of a horse. If there is female Centaurs it is as of yet of unknown. The most notable thing about Centaurs is that they can apparantly see the future by looking at the stars and planets, burning leaves, among other ways.
The Centaurs will, of course, side with Voldemort. They will want to suppress humanity for treating them so wrongly and will fight viciously against Dumbledore's army. In book 6, they will be the ones who lead the death eaters into attack Hogwarts and will also help with the invading! The reason I believe this piece of juice is that the Centaurs have been boiling for battle for a while now. They've been aching to attack Hogwarts (man homestead) and Dumbledore, the cause of their suffering. They will kill Firenze during this raid. Dumbledore fights them but is eventually killed (see my story, wink wink). Anyways, that's my story, but it seems to me the Centaurs finally/conclusion will have to come sometime during either book 6 or 7. (A.K.A. they will attack Hogwarts at some point in the story, whether you believe me or not.) The other conclusion would be that Dumbledore makes ammends, but that seems unlikely to me.
In book 7, they fight ferociously against Dumbledore's army unless something happened to them previously. But at the end, like the goblins, they realize what they've become and switch sides. (I see know other conclusion, Centaurs are not evil by nature) This helps lead to Voldemort's death at Harry's hands'. (And possibly vice-versa, all we know is Voldemort will either be killed or severely deminished.) The centaurs are granted entire country sized pastures at the end of the book by many countrys for their services at the end. No human will be alowed to set foot... (hopefully a good end)

Dementors- Hardly anything is known about the origin of the dementors except they are the embodiment of fear and guard the Azkaban prison. The dementors are caped and what is under the cape remains a mystery. All that is known is that they can administer a kiss that will suck the soul out of the victum. It is said to be worse than death.
The dementors will be one of Voldemort's greatest allies in the coming books. And I really think and really hope they track Harry at one stage! (You know like the Nazgul tracked Frodo.) No, I don't want Harry dead, but that would be extremely bad ash. Great moody bits, with Harry running in the dark, oooooh gives me the shivers just thinking about it. (And remember, there may be sense to Voldemort sending Dementors after Harry, seeing that there his greatest fear.) They will run Voldemort's Nazi-esque camps for squibs and mudbloods if he ends up having them, but at the end of the war they will all be destroyed by mass by the good guys. And why not, that's what happened to the Nazgul.

Trolls- Trolls are brutish and stupid. There are several kinds: mountain, forest, and river trolls, with the yeti being a close cousin.
Trolls, being the idiots that they are, will follow Voldemort by mass. (does anyone want to argue with me?) The giants will slaughter them by the hundreds. But after the war, they are banished to the forests. What else could the good guys do with them anyway?

Merpeople- Merpeople live under water and are similar to human in many ways. There are many kinds with ugly fish type merpeople in Ireland and Scotland. The more beautiful mermaids are further south and Sirens even further south.
There will be a massive splitting in the merpeople. Most will likely side with Dumbledore. The reason why I believe this is that there are also evil mermaids as shown in book 4, but most are good. And most like Dumbledore (seeing that he can speak there language). They will have MASSIVE WARS under the water around the world! (I liked that because it's sweet, imagine battles underwater as well as on land.) But the good merpeople will crush the evils (these including sirens) considerably, because there's more of them.

Dragons- Voldemort will get his hand on some dragons to guard places and for mounts for dementors. But Dumbledore will order Charlie Weasley to try and block as many dragons from Voldemort's hands as possible. Several dragons could be used to guard Voltemort's stronghold to keep enemies out. Could be great for Harry to confront one last dragon before the final duel.

Dwarves- Dwarves are short stubby men often with beards.
All the dwarves will probably side with Dumbledore, because Voldemort sent out goblins to raid their mines... I don't think dwarves and goblins getting along very well after watching LotR. The humans and dwarves do not get along very well I think because of a few incidences in the second book so there'll probably be some tension, but with the dwarves help, they might be able to defeat Voldemort. (And if anyone questions if dwarves are even in Harry Potter, they are. In book 2, Lockharte used them to deliver valentines. One even tackled Harry.)

Threstals- Threstals are only able to be seen by people who have seen death. If the person hasn't seen death, they are invisible to them. Threstals are disgusting looking horse creatures that can fly. They almost look undead themselves.
The good might ride these beasts to battle sometimes because they're invisible. (That's an advantage my friend) And at the end, almost everyone will be able to see them (wink, wink).

Basilisks (or Voldemort's big snake thingy, Nagini)- Basilisks are giant snakes that are death to any that stare it in the eyes. The venom of the basilisk is extremely toxic. Acromantula are increbibly frightened of this creature. The only thing that means certain death to a basilisk is the cooing of a rooster. The basilisk is born by frog laying on a chicken egg and the egg hatching.
This snake will protect Voldemort to its death. Harry will have to confront it, before he faces Voldemort! Don't forget about the snake either. Harry will probably kill it, though... Basilisks will probably make a triumphant return for Voldemort's side, too.
