GLOUCESTER CATHEDRAL, ENGLAND
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry will be portrayed by the now famous Gloucester Cathedral, which is centuries old. The cathedral is located around the forest regions of England.
OXFORD UNIVERSITY, LONDON
From what is known, the Bodleian library of Oxford University in London, England was used as Hogwart's own library, since Gloucester did not have one.
LONDON ZOO
The London Zoo was one of the first locations that was used. The scene where Harry and the Dursleys go to the zoo for Dudley's birthday, was filmed.
ALNWICK CASTLE, ENGLAND
This is the set, in which the filmmakers used for the Quidditch matches only. Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England, the first being Windsor Castle. Since 1309, it has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland.
Goathland Station, England
This is the filming location for the Hogsmeade Station, in which the Hogwarts Express awaits the oncoming students. Goathland, itself is a busy moorland village with wide verges and high hills on the North Yorkshire Moors.
DURHAM CATHEDRAL, ENGLAND
There are three filming locations for scenes involving Hogwarts, but Durham Cathedral was used for the classroom scenes. According to an eyewitness report, there were a few scenes that were filmed along the balcony and outside the archways for some winter scenes.
