Take the 2nd Paycheck Test

How Much is Your Job REALLY Paying You? Could You Benefit from Working at Home Instead of the 9 to 5 grind?
Take the 2nd PaycheckTest and Find Out

NEW! Poetry and Doll Maker with Galleries!     [Learn About Our Ecommerce]
Graphics Gallery!

Take this fun test and find out if it is really paying you to work, or if you would be better off working from home.

What you'll need to take the test:
a piece of paper
a pen or pencil
a calculator
a current pay stub, preferrably one without overtime

THE 2ND PAYCHECK TEST:
Enter the financial information to the questions below. The answers should pertain to the second wage earner in the family, the one who makes the least amount of money per week.

1. Enter the amount you spend on dry cleaning per WEEK: $
2. Enter the amount you spend on work clothes per WEEK : $
3. Enter the amount you spend per WEEK on job related accessories: $
(such things that you normally wouldn't buy if you didn't work in an office like pantyhose, expensive hair accessories, fancy shoes, and silk scarves, etc.)
4. Enter the amount you spend per WEEK on misc. job expenses such as money spent on refreshments for office parties, gifts for fellow workers, union dues, etc.: $
5. Enter the amount paid per WEEK on tolls for parking: $
6. Enter amount paid per WEEK for day care: $
7. Enter the amount paid per WEEK for gas: $
8. Enter the amount paid per WEEK for meals eaten outside of the home due to work: $
9. If you are paying a second car note for you to go to and from work, enter the amount you pay per WEEK here: $
(take the amount you pay on the car note per month and divide by 4 to get this amount. If you are not paying on a second car note for you to go to and from work, enter 0 as the amount here.)
10. Now add up the totals for lines 1-9 and enter that amount here: $

Now take out a recent pay stub. If you do not get paid weekly, use these guidelines to figure up how much you bring in per week: If you get paid every two weeks, take the total gross amount on the stub and divide by 2 to get the amount you earn per WEEK. If you get paid once a month, take the total gross amount on the stub and divide by 4 to get the amount you earn per WEEK.

11. Enter the total gross amount you earn per WEEK here: $
12. Now take the total amount from line 10 and subtract it from the amount entered on line 11.

HOW WELL DID YOU DO?

Ideally, after you have subtracted these two amounts, you should have enough money left over to pay at least one bill and buy grocies for the family for that week.

Is the difference in the two amounts less than $50? If so, then you are merely working to pay the expenses of working. Most people discover that the difference in the two amounts are very close to $0. In fact, a lot of people are actually in the red at the end of the week, meaning that it is actually costing them more money to work than they are bringing home. If you are one of those people, then a work from home job just may be the answer.
