| Home _________________________________ 16/6/01 HOME AND AWAY VISITS THE UK!!! There are plans for a special episode of Home and Away to be filmed in the U.K . No one is completely sure who is to be in the episode yet but we're sure it will be a great one On the channel 4 programme T4 it was announced that U.K model Jordan is to be in in three episodes of Home and Away The daily Star also said that Atomic Kitten are to appear in a special episode of the show too. Watch this space!! _____________________________ 16/6/01 LAUNCH DATE FOR THE UK!!! Channel 5 have set launch date for the U.K return of Home and Away. It's the the 16th July 2001 and a few of the stars should be in the U.K for the launch but we're not sure who yet but we'll keep you informed. Visit the UK Page for more. __________________________________ 16/6/01 3000TH EPISODE APPROACHING!!! The 3000th episode of Home and Away is fast approaching. It has already been shown in Australia and there were great celebrations. The 3000th episode will be screened on RTÉ in about 2 weeks time. It was announced last Friday (April 20th) that Home and Away Ireland is to receive a new site in peplacement of this site. It will move from maxpages to an eircom site. it is expected to be up and running in a few months. This new site will include photos (unlike on this site) and will be 1000 times better. Can you wait? Neither can us here at Home and Away Ireland! ___________________________ HOME AND AWAY RETURNS Great isn't it? Home and Away is back after its usual 2 week Easter break. Home and away has been absent from our screens since Monday April 9th and will be back next Monday (April 23rd). Check out the updates in week ahead. RTÉ - 13.25 (Monday - Friday) Network 2 - 18.30 (Monday - Friday) ______________________ NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS!!! Yes that's right Home and Away Ireland has now got an e-mail address. Feel free to e-mail us with your comments, suggestions and queries regarding the website, Home and Away Ireland and Home and Away itself. homeandawayireland@eircom.net ____________________ LEGAL PROBLEMS There have been problems over RTÉ's broadcast of Home and Away in Northern Ireland. Apparently Channel 5 in the UK, who have equired the rights to show all future episodes in the UK, were granted the first European broadcast rights, However, RTÉ's contract states that they can broadcast episodes right now. The situation led to a delayed return of Home and Away to RTÉ (Remember last May-October when Home and Away was absent from our screens) and the blocking of cable transmissions of Home and Away in Northern Ireland. It is thought that the legal situation of broadcast rights means that RTÉ will disappear from the NI cable link-up soon.
