Welcome to the Grand Isle Heritage Zoo Education Department!Headed by Education Curator Keanna Leonard, our education department conducts classes for children of varied ages throughout the year. We also have a very active community outreach program which provides it's services free of charge with reservation to all facilities and groups within Hall County, Nebraska.
In addition, the education program has a bustling volunteer program which puts our educational volunteers through a six week course to educate them about the zoo. Once graduated, our Ambassadors, as they have come to call themselves, are fully qualified to assist in teaching our classes, leading tours and participating in outreach programs. We currently have 21 graduates who actively participate in our educational programs.
