| Here are cheats, codes and tips that work on the Yellow Versions of Pokemon only. Look at the 'Game Boy Cheats' 'cause Meowth has plenty of cheats there that work on Yellow Version too. |
Get Bulbasaur:
To get Bulbasaur, defeat Misty and the Nugget Bridge. Then go to Bill's house. Also you must defeat the 'Rocket' at the backyard of the robbed house. Then go get Bulbasaur from the lady who lives in a house near the Pokemon Center.
(NOTE: Pikachu must be pretty happy to get Bulbasaur!)

Get Squirtle:
To get Squirtle, beat Lt. Surge and go back to Vermilion City. At the middle of the City, you'll find Officer Jenny. Talk to her to get a Squirtle.

Get Charmander:
To get a Charmander, beat the Nugget Bridge and go straight up until you find a person at the up left place. He'll give you his Charmander.

TIP: The only way to get a Raichu:
You cannot find a Raichu or evolve your Pikachu in the Yellow Version, so the only way to get a Raichu is to trade one from Red/Blue.

Get Surfing Pikachu!
(NOTE: To get a Surfing Pikachu you need a Pokemon Stadium N64 game!)
Did you ever notice the small house at the Southern beach of Fuchia City? The one that isn't in Red/Blue? Well that hut is home to the infamous 'Surfing Pikachu' mini-game! Here's the deal: if your Pikachu knows SURF you can play the mini-game right here! The only problem is that Pikachu can't learn SURF.... Well, at least not in Pokemon Yellow. Here's how to get a Surfing Pikachu:
Surfing Pikachu is hidden in Pokemon Stadium for the Nintendo 64. To teach your Pikachu SURF (a techinque it can't normally learn), you need first to unlock the R-2 (Round 2) mode. Then do the following:
1: Enter the Prime Cup Master Ball division.
2: Assemble a team that contains your Yellow Version Pikachu that does not know SURF yet. DON'T REGISTER YOUR TEAM AND DO NOT, I repeat: DO NOT USE ANY RENTAL POKEMON! Pick them straight from your Yellow Version Game Pak.
3: You have to beat the Prime Cup's Master Ball Division using a three-Pokemon team that always contains Pikachu. Pikachu must be in every one of the eight battles, but he doesn't have to fight.
4: You are not allowed to use any 'Continues'. If you do, you won't get your Surfing Pikachu.
After you have fulfilled all of the conditions above, an award screen will be shown. A Pikachu will be standing on a surfing board. After that, your Pikachu can learn the HM 3: SURF.
