Helpthepaws developed when I (Rebecca Dixon) was researching on elephants. When searching through sites I found peta.org that helps the cause of helping animal cruelty. I also found that circus animals were killed and mistreated all the time for not knowing what to do or not doing the right trick. Sometimes they were burned, shot, or just not given medical attention. It gives you tips and ways to help. My neighbor had a pit bull when he went to jail. He left the dog to the landlord. This man practically starved the dog and my family and I went almost every day to feed the dog and to give it water and attention. In the meantime we called the SPCA and every time they came the landlord took the dog inside right before they got there. For many weeks we tried to help when finally the dogs was never seen again and we had no more options. So I created this site to give people who want to help the prevention of animal cruelty to get some tips and make a difference.
