| The Daily Prophet- Please send in more articles! Everything you need to know about Nifflers... and more! Nifflers, a treasure detector! Nifflers are fuzzy little black creatures with long snouts. They're front paws are flat like spades, and the are quite cuddly! Nifflers are mostly found in mines because they absolutly love sparkley objects. That's why people call them "treasure detectors". All you have to do is set them free and off they go to find some treasure.(ie. gold, silver, diamonds etc.) When they find something they dig. It will look like they are diving in and out of water! And when they find something they bring it right back to the person who set it loose! You don't even have to train them! Nifflers, although cute and cuddly make terrible house pets. They will ruin your home because they will be digging so much. If you do get one you should leave it somewhere with open space that is dark, like a basement. You should also fill it with dirt so it can dive in and out of it. Another thing you can do is fill the dirt with some treasure like leprechaun gold (so it's not expensive!), so you niffler has something to do. Here I have a list of common pets that you can match your personality to. The pet that you are most a like to is the one you should get: Dogs: they are very loyal creatures; treat them right and you have a friend for life! they also have a great sense of smell and hearing. The Wizard family, Jones, had an illegal Antipodean Opaleye dragon egg. The dragon is one month old, who was not properly looked after, had flew to into the yard over which was a Muggle's property, who goes by the name of Barnes. The baby dragon had breathed fire at the Muggle's 2 year old child, who now has 2nd degree burns. The Muggle child remains in the hospital while the owner, who admits to purchasing the dragon egg on the black market, is paying a hefty fine of 5000 galleons. They say that the punishment would have been worse, like 1 month in Azkaban Prison, if the dragon had been older or if imediate care from The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures hadn't come to help. On a higher note, the Muggle family Barnes all had memory charms done and they think the burns are from the child playing with "matches". *Matches are a Muggle use of making fire, which is a little wooden stick that you brush hard againest something to make the fire come out.
